Seems like most of the questions here are a battle of trying to prove one side or the other. When they asked Buddha about God, he remained silent. Why open THAT can of worms, I can just hear him saying to himself. Don't we all pretty much know how things work by observation? Me personally I think some people reject the concept of an omnipotent God because then they can't get away with things. Like being mean to people here on this forum. Without an omnipotent God that sees them when they're naughty, they can just be selfish, mean, vain, or any old way they want to. Isn't that really why atheists don't believe in God? :-)

i have just recently finished the book and i watched the film last night. i would say that i am a christian even though i never go to church. my question is, has this book or film made any christians doubt their religion? it sounds so convincing, iv even looked up some facts on the internet about mary magdeline and its just really confusing. do you believe that the roman catholic church made the majority of the bible up? and that jesus was a man and not a divine being?

The New Catholic Encyclopedia states: “The formulation ‘one God in three Persons’ was not solidly established, certainly not fully assimilated into Christian life and its profession of faith, prior to the end of the 4th century. But it is precisely this formulation that has first claim to the title the Trinitarian dogma. Among the Apostolic Fathers, there had been nothing even remotely approaching such a mentality or perspective.”—(1967), Vol. XIV, p. 299.

I went about 12 years ago with my family when it was open to the public. I think it was built in the 1200's.
Had some very strange experiences there. Just want to know any stories of other people who have visited the house and is it still open to the public? Thanks.

When I was younger, I think it was in the 1980's, I remember going to the Jehovah's Witnesses book study with my aunt and they where studying the book of revelations and they where saying that the generation that witnessed WW1 will see the end.

We are now in the year 2007, those people that witnessed WW1 are mostly dead now.

Now JW's say that it was not a generation of 1914, but a generation of acts and occurrences since 1914? so WW1, WW2, etc.

Is this all BS?

Who is to say that the end will come in our life time anyway?

There has been hardships in human history non-stop.

Slavery trade in Africa, Europe and American continent druing the 16,17 and 18th centuries. That must have been a horrific experience for black people.

There has been wars between nations and kingdoms in Europe and Africa for thousands of years. Those could have been considered World wars. Or Napoleon and the World War of 1813?

I mean really...is the bible and the God of the bible just a myth?
