No, it's not true. Religious zealots are always using natural disasters to try to convert people to their cause.

See, the Godman knows only the Good and the Evil, these being the parameters he indulges in. Athiests are surely a
competetion to his fold. So he'll try any means to cajole an athiest to join the Godman's group.
Like the minister who shows up during Election time, asking for votes.

The concept of a God/god/Goddess/goddess has been used for millenia to explain what we don't understand. Closely behind that someone realized that the fear of the unknown could be used to control people and thus was born the shaman.
Don't confuse religion with spirituality; the former is man's invention, the latter is what you feel regardless of what someone else tells you.

I predict that within the next 12 months:
There will be a natural disaster in the North of England.
An African leader will be assassinated.
A terrorist attack will be made on a hotel.
A ship will run aground.
There are always people doing the "end of the world is nigh" routine (well, technically it is but that's another story) to make themselves feel important.

Approx.2/3rd population of this world still believe in One God (Monotheism) as told by Adam, Abraham, Jesus and finally prophet Muhammad. This majority is neither mad nor abnormal. They live in peace & harmony untill some Political Leaders upset the religious commandments and laws!
I don't know as to why this Religous person came to your door but it is clear that now a days the Peace & Harmony is shattered by the powerful states causing destruction & death to innocent men, women and children. This is the sign of anger from God!
If we don't stand against this evil then God shall do himself ; whatever is necessary to eliminate the Evil!!
I disagree to those who say that religion creates fear to control the masses.
Fear is created by Political leaders like - Hitler,Mousoline,J.w.bush,Tony blare etc.etc.
Bush is taking undue advantage of alqaida & Bin ladden and creating a great fear as if ladden would destroy the America and Europe? But they are still unable to prove the charges against this beast!
Every one knows their war is for oil and Israel!
Do you know the name of any religous leader who created such fear!!
God created all religions to address the needs of the societies and create Peace & Harmony among humanity. Religion teaches respect of each human and creates universal brotherhood and sense of security. This motive has no harm !!
A believer believes in God due to the spiritual Witnessess of prophets - the choosen one - from Adam to Jesus and Muhammad (pbuh)!
An unbeliever has no evidence about non-existance of God while a believer has 124,000 Witnesses of the prophets of God! Motives and victories of many prophets are written in Holy Scriptures which cannot be denied!!
In spite all of this a believer is in a Win-Win position and unbeliever is in a Win-Lose position!
If God exists the unbelievers would be the Loosers!
Hope you understand....

Religious leaders have used fear to control the masses for centuries. Don't follow blindly, question the motives of anyone who claims to be passing the WORD of GOD!
