I left the Catholic church and am now Wiccan. I believe the bible was made up since Jesus did not contribute any actual writing to it. I do still believe in God and Jesus was a man who was a divine being. I just think a lot of the real and truthful things about Christianity are lost and that people made up a lot of what is.

If you went to church and listened to the sermons, and were familiar with the content of the Bible, you could recognize that a lot of the things in the Da Vinci Code are from discredited books that circulated in ancient times, and false notions about Christ's divinity. The Council at Nicene gathered the best scholars of the time and decided which books are accurate and which books were inaccurate., as well as the true nature of Christ; (the Nicene Creed).Yes, it was a human decision, but we live by that standard today, as well. You get the most knowledgable people to review all the evidence available and decide what is true or false. Scientists' theories are peer- reviewed, Doctoral candidates are peer -reviewed, Criminals are peer-reviewed.Da Vinci Code is an entertaining story, but based on false premises. Your confusion is exactly what the Nicene Council was hoping to prevent.

I read a book about ten years ago titled: Guardians of the Grail, and the Men Who Plan to Rule the World. It basically covers the Da-vinci Code, but concentrates more on the Masons.
This idea has been around for centuries, it is nothing new. It doesn't bother me in the least, just another Satanic ploy to draw more people away from Jesus.
I do believe that there is a greater Da-Vinci code, a real one, and that is the theory of evolution. it is the greatest hoax against human kind, and when the theory is re-written (like they say The Bible is), they will swallow the new theory without question. This is called blind faith.
If you have some old National Geographic magazines, open them up and read them for a good laugh.
Scientific 'facts' that we would laugh at today. but the Church of Evolution Believers blindly mimic what they have been taught; "Well, that proves that our knowledge is evolving". LOL.
I KNOW the bible is true. for some help on this, check out all the names, dates, and places mentioned in the Bible.
Try this out:
*Get your Bible out (I hope you have one)
* Randomly open it up. Preferably the Old Testament, something they say was re-written so many times it is inaccurate,. We will test it.
*Find a name, or a place.
* Do an Internet search on it.
* you will come up with droves of information, many from Archaeological groups beating a drum about how they found a 'lost' city or civilization. This proves the Bible's accuracy, aside form all the modern day places that existed during the time of Christ.
Have faith. Trust in Jesus, and he will open your heart, you will SEE him.
I know he is real because I have MET HIM.

I asked this question of my niece. A Catholic girl, if it would make a difference to her if Jesus were a man capable of everything that was documented of him. Bible and beyond. She said "No".
No, it wouldn't make a difference to her if he were a touchable human being with a wife and kids. It just made him more real to her.
If the message of Jesus is so out of reach that it requires faith alone to believe it. And the evidence is starting to stack up that faith is no longer required. He's even closer yet. Isn't that even better?
Well, for her it was anyway...

Look the book is fictions and takes some big liberties with facts. At least read "Holy Blood, Holy Grail" if you want a non-fiction version of the case.
The History Channel has a couple of decent documentaries on it too. It is interesting, but hardly a solid case.

No it is utter nonsense. Hang in there. I had a wobble when I first read the Holy Blood and the Holy Grail because the spirit behind it is very powerful. But it is just more clever lies told by a master. It is not only good but necessary to test your faith so don't feel bad about it. It makes you study more and be able to defend your beliefs. See these links - be strong in Christ.

I personally do. I believe that modern capitalism has its roots in the emperor of Rome, Constantine, circa 340 CE. I believe he was the first one to incorporate a new religion, called Christianity, into his empire. Whether the book was created by people appointed by him or by others I can't say, as I haven't looked into it that far. I believe it was created based on the works of a great man, called Jesus. I believe it was instilled with other 'tools,' in the form of spiritual entrapments, to ensure a unified and much harder to divide new Roman Empire.

Mary Magdalene is one of several women who followed Jesus his traveling ministry, according to Christian scriptures. Brief direct references to her in the Gospels, the first four books of the New Testament, indicate her importance. She is among the women present at Jesus' execution who later discover his empty tomb, and is the first person to whom he appears after his resurrection. Dan Brown's book is fiction and a what if this happened book.
