As a Network Administrator you have no idea what the logistics of that in the computer world would be or you would never suggest it.
I can't even imagine how we would upgrade the software on every satellite up there. Much less on every single computer that talks to other computers here. Time is a BIG deal in the computer world. Just them screwing with the date that Daylight Saving Time started gave me some big problems.

At some point all religion will most likely dissolve. Once newer better educated generations grow up. Unlikely to be in our life times. Every year the number of non-believers rises so at this stage it's in our favour.
Resetting the calender would be harder. That would take global cooperation. All free societies have been moving away from religion for a while. Even Christians have watered down their religious beliefs. They of course will deny this.
Government will tighten to loose on religion. Take gay rights for example. Like it or not religions at least in this country are going to have to bend a little. Why? Because their beliefs make no sense what so ever. They continue to fight it but are running out of excuses for God. More and more will wake up from their delusions and forget their imaginary friend.

No, definitely not. Not because I don't think Christianity will fade away over the next 200 years, but because what was mentioned above, how it would affect computer systems. There is another way of looking at it though, its called CE, which stands for Common Era. just replace AD with CE, and you're good to go.
Well, I thought CE was unique to Common Era. Turns out it can also be Christian Era.
So how about UE? Unified Era?

Yes but it would have to be year 1. We could use negative numbers or count backwards for dates of the old era.

In the second coming of Jesus Christ, he will separate the wicked and the saints. The body of the Saints will be transformed into a spiritual being like angles and will be residing in the New earth. They will not go old there because their life will be eternal. There is no need to your calendar in heaven.
The wicked will be tormented in the eternal fire. They too will not need calendar.

Voltaire said that within a 100 yrs of his time that Christianity would be gone. After he died Christians used his house as a bible printing press. How ironic.

When that happens, there will be no more Christians on the earth. God would have made his pick up in the carpool lane.

It's 2007 AD--->only goes one way, unto the end of law.
What got "abolished" l-o-n-g ago, was law(enmity, dung).
Christ: is the end of the law: Romans 10:4
Christ abolished the law from his flesh.
We are his flesh. Ephesians 2 & 5.
Which things are an allegory: Galatians 4
The grace(only) of our Lord J-->C with you--->all. Amen.
