Counting tithes, and considering how they must constantly be under pressure from the Church to give, I'd say that they do.
It is certainly something the loud Christians love to on about. Another mark of their well displayed godliness.

That's a little difficult to determine, because when atheists donate, they don't donate in the *name* of atheism. They just do it. There are atheists who even donate to charities affiliated with religious organizations. (Ex: Atheist Robert Wilson, a retired financier, has given $22.5 million-- the largest single donation ever recorded by the New York archdiocese -- to a program that will pay tuition for needy children attending New York's parochial schools. )
When believers donate, they tend to be more vocal about their religious beliefs.
Note: The two largest single charitable donations in history were given by atheists Bill Gates and Warren Buffet.(Buffet: $31 Billion, Gates: $17 Billion)

i could if I knew in simple terms what the money became going for use for. Too many charities, even church-run charities, use a extensive chew of donations to run their companies and church homes, and in basic terms a small proportion definitely is going to the folk they are "helping". i do unlike that. If I supply my money for the homeless, i do no longer it going to somebody's paycheck as a exchange. I frequently donate without delay to the source - decrease out the middle guy. If a splash lady desires money for an operation, I supply the money to the little lady's relatives - no longer the charity engaged on her behalf. That way i be attentive to she is getting one hundred% of my donation - no longer some 20% of it.

They're certainly more vocal about it.
They probably do donate more, because they are trained to give money for organizations that ask for it, without even looking into what that organization does. Of course, the prime example of this is the church, itself. Though their claims are baseless, they play on people's emotional insecurities to guilt them into giving money. This giving probably carries over into any other group claiming to be a charity. I notice that most of them love to appeal to religious people by having "mission" or "ministry" in their name.

My church offers so many opportunities to get involved in our community that it’s just more a part of my life now. This isn’t to say that I didn’t give when I was an agnostic. I did; I even organized events. This is just more a part of my life now.

I don't think it should be a contest. When someone gives from the heart, it does not matter whether they are Christian or non-Christian.
