Does it bother the religious that you pay homage to the old Gods daily when referring to the days of the week? (It is the same in Spanish, French, and Italian, too)

Don't you think it blasphemous to "bring false gods before" yours?

Monday (Moon day) Tuesday (Tiwaz) Wednesday (Woden's Day (aka Odin) Thursday (Thor's Day) Friday (Frig) Saturday (Saturn) and Sun day. Although Sunday in the romance languages is usually called the sabbath.

And what about your Achilles tendons? Achilles was a demi god much like your Jesus (half human, half deity).

The last Pope stated he was just as good if not better then God. He also stated that all his priests were just as good if not better than Jesus. I seen a document he signed stating just that. Saying if a person went in to a confessional with a priest, and one went in to a confessional with Jesus, the one with the priest would come out feeling much better then the one with Jesus. Is This Really Possible?

I know, with all my questions, it really looks like I am attacking just the Catholics, not just them this time.

Who on Earth is Better then God?

For instance, you have a two year old, are you going to do every thing that two year old tells you? What to eat? What to wear? When to go to bed? When to wake up?

Say you have two kids. One is always saying "I love you, what can I do for you today?" and the other one is saying, "I am better then you, you will do what I say, like it or not!"

What would you do?

Gen 15:5 God promised Abraham that his seed would be without number to the human mind, just as the stars are.
"Now look toward the heaven and count the stars, if you are able to count them", So shall your decendants be"

If the bible were written according to science (which some say) Abrahams descendants would have ended before the fourth generation, because the scientists at that time believed that there were only 4096 stars!

Ptolemy AD 200 ... 1028 stars
John Flamsteed 18 century 3000 stars
1862 with telescopes .... 300,000 stars.

Today .... science says over 200 billion stars in our galaxy alone, and Abrahams seed are without number (to the human mind) just as are the stars.

Pretty cool huh????

By Law: all perish; none enter.
By Grace: none perish; all enter.

The LAW (and lie) was given by Moses,
but GRACE (and truth) came by J -> C.

Ye are not under the LAW, (Rom, Gal)
but under GRACE (if led of the Spirit)

He TAKETH AWAY the first,
that he may ESTABLISH the second.

LAW(Surely Die Lie): press DELETE to take away
GRACE(No lie = No die): press SAVE to e-stablish

"Six days may work be done; but in the seventh [is] the sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD: whosoever doeth [any] work in the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death. Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, [for] a perpetual covenant. It [is] a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for [in] six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed."

The Mayan calendar is set to run out on the winter solstice in 2012. This is said to have long been the day of the apocolypse. The Mayans had an unbelievable intelligence of the universe and time (with their calendar being more exact and accurate than our current one). Personally I don't believe in it, but it still interesting to think about especially on December 20, 2012. What do you think of it?

We know that all religions are false and whatnot. What I am wondering is, when we find life on another planet/ moon, intelligent or not, the life will have evolved completely different from earthlings.

I see this as "the end of days" for religion.

What do you suppose the religious will do?

In Psalm 135:7 and Job 36:7 the process of water evaporation and rainfall is described.

Ps 135:7 " He causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth; who makes the lightenings for the rain; who brings foth the wind from his treasuries.

Job 36:27 " For he draws up the drops of the water, they distill rain from the mist.

Outside the bible, man did not know these facts until the basic laws of aerodynamics, thermodynamics, and hydrodynamics formulated by a German Scientist in 1888.

It's in Luke 8:11. And the very next verse is about being saved by this word.

People say the Bible is the Word of God, but the Bible as we know it today did not exist when Jesus was speaking. So what was this seed he was speaking about? I doubt very much that he was passing out hand written copies of the old scripture either.

What is this seed that saves?

In todays church society, sin is not a popular thing to be talked about in the pulpit, many believe that preaching about sin angers too many people and causes too many problems.

Are the preachers wrong for preaching about sin, According to the bible they are not. Sin is somthing that is unlearned and it is natural for humanity to exercise but Jesus nailed all sin to the cross that we may be forgiven of them, he payed the price. Sin is a big issue and it is important that we get "THE TRUTH" back into the pulpit.

Could a supreme intelligent being create the fifty billion galaxies each with two hundred billion stars, then rejoice in the smell of a burning goat's flesh?

It just doesnt make any sense to me. You clearly see throughout the book of numbers that god is "pleased" with the aroma of burning animal sacrifices. Why would such a grand being be pleased with something like that?

I am a relatively new Christian, and I just want to understand peoples points of views a little better.

Whith Catholic Traditions like praying to Mary, asking forgiveness from the Priest instead of Jesus, and the standing firm (rigid) with the way one conducts Church activiety/sevices and ceramonies. Can that not be seen as Idolitary? If one did it differentley would that be percieved as wrong?

I dont mean to offened anyone, I just struggled to find scripture supporting the Traditions or the praying to Mary/ The Saints etc.

Forgive me if I have offened, it is not my intention, I would just like to educate myself in the word and find out how one got to go about these things and the reasoning behind it.

God Bless!

My husband encourages me every day to be patient and strong, and to pray. He also tells me to be kind to everybody, even if they don't seem to deserve it. I generally do these things anyway, but sometimes I need a gentle reminder.
