One might think that a duck-billed platypus would be good enough.

Can I be a wet blanket and point out that a 'crocoduck' would still be a fully formed animal with it's own niche in nature. Remember that the Australian platypus was considered a hoax when it was first discovered due to the mix of different animal parts. The platypus is still a fully formed animal specifically created for its part of the environment and that there is no link between it and any other animal.
In the same way a 'crocoduck' would appear to be half duck and half crock but would likely have vastly different smaller or overall characteristics than either the duck or the crocodile.
Sorry, in kind of an irritated mood and wasn't sure who the butt of the joke in this question was supposed to be so I gave a full answer on it instead. Sorry for my lack of humour tonight.

I'm not quite sure who's side you're on by that joke. But,to me, the evolution chart where the ape becomes a man is about as stupid as a crockoduck. All you have to do is "fill in the blank." And there you have it! Evolution! Wow! How very ingenious. Then, all you have to do is invent someway to make people believe the earth is billions of years old, so it will FIT the evolution story, Throw a few bones together that don't even belong, call ape bones human, get other people to lie for you, call theories the truth, and teach it to all our kids, so they can learn the lie at an early age, call yourself a scientist, so no one will question your intelligence(?), and add a big bang, and VOILLA!!! One of Satan's biggest lies comes to life.
People want there not to be a God so badly, so they don't have to be accountable to one, they will do anything. If they took all this energy they are wasting on trying to prove something that will never be proven, and put it towards seeking God, maybe they would find Him, instead.

Sadly one of them seems to be. They don't believe that evolution is well stablished and/or has enough evidence to back it up once you discard its naturalistic basis. It is much more complex than that and i think serious questions should be raised from this subject

Sorry, I have no understanding about how creationist minds work. I am gradually becoming convinced that they don't work, at least not in any sensible consistent way.

No, that's just that idiot who tried to claim that the man-made banana proved creationism spouting more rhetoric nonsense.

Unfortunately, it seems as though that is how a lot of them envision evolution happening..
