Anyone know of any good volunteer organizations I can check out? I found a homeless shelter, but they require a minimum commitment that I can't meet.

I'm in Massachusetts.

The other "problem" is that I'll only be available for the summer because I go to college out-of-state.

I am a volunteer with the special Olympics, and it is the most rewarding experience I have ever had.

Get a group of special Olympians together, and you will see more love, good will, and Camaraderie than you could ever imagine.
If you are looking to volunteer, I would highly recommend the special Olympics.

Your volunteer center can help you find specific community projects and non-profit agencies in your local area to help you make an impact in your community. Many of the programs are one-time, short-term, or flexible, unless you want to look for a longer commitment.
