Satan uses every means (tool) that he can think of to in-snare us.
He uses people and situations like candy.
As the Archangel Michael said to Satan when fighting over the body of Moses, "The Lord rebuke you."

Satan created the gray area between black and white, thereby putting into question the authority of God. He's also the great deceiver allowing you to believe in your heart that what is wrong is right and what is right is wrong. He is a cunning adversary, the wolf in sheep's clothing.
He has one purpose in mind – to take as many people with him into the lake of fire at the end of the age. Mere man cannot challenge him on his own. Only through the power of the shed blood of Jesus and the direction of the Holy Spirit can you defeat such a powerful foe.
