This is a question for Mormons (I guess non Mormons can reply whether my assertion is correct or not.)

Have you ever thought that the reason so much anomosity develops towards the LDS Church is because you attempt to make it look like mainstream Christianity and hide your differences instead of being open about them?Other groups like the JW's, SDA's have no problem saying where they differ from mainstream Christian doctrine.

Can you see that trying to present yourself as such and not openly admitting your differences especially to those you try to convert make it seem deceptive and this deceptivness is what brings about the anti Mormon backlash?(the only LDS member I have seen on this board which will tell you there are differences is Miranda)

Your crediblity would be greatly enhanced instead of telling people they are wrong about what you believe tell them why they are wrong and what exactly your belief is on the topic. Face it head on. If you are proud of it don't hide.

I believe that sex and nudity are beautiful. I am against censorship of sexual material, when that sexual material is authentic and not being used to trick us into buying something. Unfortunately, almost all sexual material that appears on television is for the purpose of getting our attention or tricking us into buying something. The problem is that it seems to work, especially in America. Why? Remember the Super Bowl Half-time show a few years ago. If you don’t remember, I will recap: Janet Jackson, a musical performer whose career was definitely on the downhill side, essentially said to us, “Hey, I can’t sing, I can’t write songs, I can’t play any instruments, but look at my ****.” We did look at her “****” and everyone talked about Miss Jackson for the next several weeks. How come we are not able to see through such shallow tactics?

I have found two people that worry me enough that I have had to decide whether I wanted to block them or add them to my contacts so I could see what they're up to. I decided to block them, because they are creepy, but I still wonder about them sometimes.

Both tend to hang out here in R&S, which is why the question is here.

With all the put-down I recieve from the (THERE IS NO GOD FOLKS) on my posts, I come back to this site to read what many christians have to say and post about Biblical Prophecy what has happened in the past and what will happen in the future. Of course many of you know my interest is following current events and how prophecy is intertwined in all of it, as Jesus's return is right on the horizon

1. God LOVES you and offers a wonderful PLAN for your life.

"God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life" John 3:16.

Why is it that people are not experiencing the abundant life?

2. Man is SINFUL and SEPARATED from God. Therefore, he cannot know and experience God's love and plan for his life.

Man Is Sinful
"All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" Romans 3:23.

3. Jesus Christ is God's ONLY provision for man's sin. Through Him you can know and experience God's love and plan for your life.

"God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" Romans 5:8.

4. We must individually RECEIVE Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord; then we can know and experience God's love and plan for our lives.

"As many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name" John 1:12

If there was more pride in ownership of a nice home and neighberhood would crime slow and greater oppertunities arrise, or would crime sustain and the new building become abandoned and breakdown and cycle back to the way things are?

Okay a girl at work that I like tries to talk to me every now and then even though I don't really make an effort to speak back to her. When she talks to me I keep it as short and proffesional as possilbe because I really like her alot but she has a boyfriend and I feel it's pointless to get close to a girl that I like if she has a man. Anyway, she came up to me the other day asking me how i'm doing and telling me that she missed me the other night when everyone from work went out together. I just gave a very short response and left the room. Without getting into details the next day she intentionally screwed me over at work (not seriously), i'm guessing becuz I didn't really pay much attention to her the previous day. I like this girl alot but I'd rather keep my distance from her becuz I know she has a man, and work relationships are trouble anyway. As much as I want her I know I can live without her and have no problem avoiding her. I don't want problems at work. What do I do?

Okay, some Christians teach that all unsaved sinners suffer the same fate in the afterlife--eternal burning and torment from demons. There are not levels or degrees of punishment, like in Dante's Inferno. While I don't believe in either idea, I'm curious as to how people could view the former example to be just. What if our criminal justice system punished all crimes with the death penalty? It's the same basic idea.

Christians I am very fed up of your threats , I keep seeing posts that say the same thing, convert, repent ,accept Jesus or burn in hell forever.I personally do not respond well to threats of violence(the hell and torture you love to talk about) meant to force me to love your God .What kind of God are you worshipping that will torture his creation based on a religious belief?

I have been in a discussion with a good friend about the correlation of people that have been involved with higher education and their religious beliefs. I believe that people who have an educated background in science and history and all basic schooling have a hard time accepting religious faiths as blindly as uneducated people do. It is hard to accept Genesis when you can SEE evolution and adaptation at work. My discussion partner has asked me for some hard evidence that there is any correlation between higher education and religious beliefs. Can anyone provide discussion or a website or a book reference that can help enlighten me? Thank you so much for any help!
