Why do you think that people who do believe in god are so quick to judge others who don't?

I think by saying this, you are judging others also. No offense. I am a Christian. But, I can see what both sides are saying. Sometimes we get angry at those who don't believe what we do. We want to get our point across. Yes, some people who don't believe in God do that, as well as people who do believe in God do it.
My point is, though, that some people don't understand that when we tell them about God's word, we are not actually judging them. We are suppose to spread the gospel, and in order to do that, we have to tell people about our Lord. People don't understand that simply telling them about God's word, isn't actually judging them. If I said "Hey, you're going to burn in hell if you do that" then, I would be judging someone. If I said " The Bible tells us not to do that, or we will not go to heaven, but to hell" that is simply telling them what God says about it, not what WE THINK ABOUT IT. There's a difference. We need to be careful how we approach others when spreading God's word. Remember to do it in love, not in a way we will turn others away. We have to make sure we are not doing what we say others are. Sometimes our words seem strong, and that's ok. As long as we don't CONDEMN others. Jesus said "I DIDN'T COME TO CONDEMN THE WORLD, but to SAVE IT" He also said the world would hate us, like it hated Him. Remember why we're here, and why the Lord called us to do His will, not ours. God Bless, and try to forgive those who are hateful towards you.

It's true that judgement can go both ways: non-believers judging believers and vice versa. But, in my experience, the roots of judgement seems to stem from how solid our belief truly is.
The judgement comes from a need to justify and defend one's position. Why would an individual feel the need to do so, if he truly believed what he claims? This goes for both sides.
Even a tiny seed of doubt about your belief would create an insecurity that causes you to feel the need to defend yourself and your non-belief (or belief).
I have found that the stronger my belief becomes in something, God or otherwise, the less I feel a need to judge others for believing differently. When I am secure about what I believe, I feel no need to judge others in order to defend myself.
When you become secure about what you believe in a quiet, non-judgemental way, you can be certain that your belief is strong.

Why are Christians quick to judge Muslims or Muslims quick to judge Jews, or Jews quick to judge Buddhist? I think no matter what you believe in or don't everyone wants to think they are right and will judge those who don't go along with what they believe.

I try not to judge anyone, but I see a lot of harm caused in this world and particularly in this country by the ignorance and intolerance of the religious "right". If I can educate even one person, make them question their perception of others, and open their minds just a bit, then it is worth it.
In other words: I hate the sin, not the sinner.

Judging someone does not have anything to do with believing in God. People judge other people by a set of morals that has been instilled in them.

I think that there are judgmental people that believe in god too you are just stereotyping non believers. If you open you mind a little you will see that just because someones religion or lack of it doesn't make them a good or bad person.

I don't believe in God, however I am not one to criticize others who do. I think those who do not believe are unsure of their own beliefs, so they try to bring the other person down to make up for their own insecurities. I believe whatever you need to make it through the day in this crazy world, believe in it, more power to you.

I get awfully tired of hearing that I must be an amoral satan-worshipper who leads a wicked and hedonistic lifestyle. When Christians make those kind of judgements about you, you tend to judge back.

All due respect, people who have a strong faith generally judge, (whether they like to admit it or not), those who don't believe.
I think that people like me, who are unsure of their faith and what they believe, are quick to judge those with faith because they are merely reflecting what they see.
