Okay a girl at work that I like tries to talk to me every now and then even though I don't really make an effort to speak back to her. When she talks to me I keep it as short and proffesional as possilbe because I really like her alot but she has a boyfriend and I feel it's pointless to get close to a girl that I like if she has a man. Anyway, she came up to me the other day asking me how i'm doing and telling me that she missed me the other night when everyone from work went out together. I just gave a very short response and left the room. Without getting into details the next day she intentionally screwed me over at work (not seriously), i'm guessing becuz I didn't really pay much attention to her the previous day. I like this girl alot but I'd rather keep my distance from her becuz I know she has a man, and work relationships are trouble anyway. As much as I want her I know I can live without her and have no problem avoiding her. I don't want problems at work. What do I do?

Why would you even like this girl? Do you want to be the boyfriend in the wings while she flirts with other guys??

Well, what you have here is a classic Diana - named for the goddess of the Hunt.

You can keep on avoiding her and being cool towards her advances - but that may just fuel her "love of the hunt."

Or - you level with her - In a friendly but somewhat aloof manner, tell her nicely that while you find her very attractive and intelligent, you would prefer to keep your relationship strictly business QT because 1. she has a boyfriend and that's encouraging her to cheat on him; and 2. work romances rarely work out; and often result in both people getting reprimanded - or fired.

The stag turning on the huntress is often enough to convince most Dianas to look for easier prey.

You're right. You don't want problems at work. So, if she keeps coming on to you, you have reason to file a charge against her for harassment.

Yes continue keeping your distance, she has a man already and as you said getting involved with someone you work with can cause problems it can even cost you your job.

I think you're doing the right thing. Maybe be a little friendlier, but I probably wouldn't get too attached.

Well ask her what does she want from you!! and tell her if she doesn´t notice that you´re not interested to talk to her...

If she keeps bothering you, have a brief sexual encounter...(brief one day, less than 10 mins.) And then keep your attitude IGNORE HER!!!

Just have a brief sexual encounter. Do it at work, after hours. Trust me, that'll fix everything.

You're welcome.
