Fatan al-Hinawi, 9, was hospitalized in the children's ward of Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv after being wounded in Gaza. A bullet punctured her side, hit her spine, bowels, a kidney and came out the other side, hitting her arm.

Al-Hinawi is one of five Palestinians, three of them children, who were caught in Hamas-Fatah cross fire and taken to Ichilov. Some are in serious condition.

Shadi, a 23-year-old policemen, is one of them. He was attacked by Hamas gunmen a week ago. "There were five of them. They stood over me and shot my legs from the knee down. One of them put his Kalashnikov to my head. Instinctively I moved the barrel aside and the bullet hit my hand," Shadi told Haaretz yesterday. He arrived at Ichilov with one leg amputated and the other leg crushed.

why do some people write g-d and leave out the "o"?

i see a lot of people write it like that, but i never do. what is the point of doing that? is it out of some sort of courtesy or something?

a question on christianity?

firstly, i don't intend to cause offence, this is bit of a retaliatory question so that i have a counter for the "god made adam and eve not adam and steve" trash that keeps trolling around the lgbt forum.

ok, if god created adam and eve, where did the rest of the humans of the world come from? because to come from these two humans alone, would imply that the human race is born out of incest.

Is the end near?

I rememeber when I was little, a particular day was coming and everyone said that was the day of the rapture.People were pointing to referances in the Bible, but I don't know what they were. We are still here, nothing happened.
Now it seems, everyone is saying this again.What have I missed for everyone to believe the end is near (again)?

BoS - the only holy book I espouse?

I am a monotheist, an agnostic, and a witch. I have been thinking recently about "Holy" books and how convoluted and meaningless they are, and I have decided that the only book that is holy is a Book of Shadows. Okay, well, that's what we call them in witchcraft, but if you are a Christian, you may keep a book where you write down your "conversations" with God, your prayers and your beliefs or somesuch, I would consider that in the same vein. A book based upon your own personal ideas, observations, and experiences is holy, but a book based on ancient legends, violent stories, and bronze age mentality doesn't fit the bill. My reasoning is simply that other "Holy" books leave me feeling spiritually bereft, whereas my own thoughts and ideas and prayers and rituals make me feel closer to the Deity.

What are your "holy books," why are they Holy, and what makes you believe it is holy? What does it look and smell like? What sorts of things are pressed between the pages?

To all you christians out there who do not believe in the rapture or that the rapture will happnen?

after the tribulation please show me some versus in the bible that states that the rapture will either be post trib or not ratpure all all. When hte Apostal Paul talked about being caught up and changed in the twinkling of an eye that is raptured up, same thing as caught up. So Chrisitans if you can give me scripture that backs up your belief I will read it. Thank you

Creating a volunteer organization?

I'm actually starting to think about creating a volunteer organization. It would be designed for college / high school students to help out during the summers. We could do fundraising... All kinds of things. Once it gets going, I could advertise it in the newspaper, or ask them if they'll write an article on it. Does anyone know what it takes besides just having a few people get together? What else would I need?
