I know several Mormons quite well.
I think that they believe their level of spiritual glory (after their death) depends on their works, and so they strive harder to follow their principles.
Other Christians believe that Christ has paid in full for our ticket to eternity. Other Christians strive to follow God's law IN RESPONSE to what Christ has done for them, but Mormons believe that they MUST follow the rules in order to finish the attainment of celestial glory.
I'm sure I'm not articulating this correctly, and many a Mormon scholar will correct me, but that's my understanding of it.
While I am not a Mormon, I do respect their values system and I find most Mormons to be very pleasant people to be around. It's unfathomable to me that our country has treated them so poorly in the past.

Given the choice, I'd prefer to buy a used car from someone in Cedar City than Las Vegas. I'm very seldom, if ever cut off (or flipped off) in traffic by someone with Utah plates. Mormon chocolate chip cookies are the best in history, and are generally free. Aaronic priesthood young men will clean your garage out for Pizza and Sprite.
On the other side, the membership can be a little condescending (an aspect of gossip that is universal) and exclusionary if you aren't a card-carrying Templar. They seem to apply more chrome gadgets to their Hummers - or maybe it's just a Las Vegas thing. They don't appreciate anyone knocking on their door at 8am to tell them what they believe is wrong.

The ones in Utah can be snobbish, if you are a member of the church, if you are a nonmember looking in, they can be the nicest people. I live by a military base and so everyone is in a hurry and everyone seems to be bad drivers, when I go to Utah, its nice to be able to relax. I do remember mormons be snobbish tho, but now that I am a tourist, they seem to be nice. I had a PLDC instructor who was mormon (whne I was active duty, he was an instructor for SGT school) and he was too honest, all the other instructors told their troops which points for land navigation were being used and he wouldn't tell us a thing, very honest man. I remember the jellow salalds in my ward. My grandma would not hire anyone unless they were mormon.

I was raised in a town that was 76% mormon according to the census. My dad owned a business in town and he had business issues with many mormon families. They were very frugal and would often be unethical in order to save money. These people may have justified their actions because my dad had left the mormon church and there is often a feeling that you don't have to be ethical with "outsiders."
In addition, most of my Aunts and Uncles and many cousins are LDS. These people are no more or less ethical than others. I do know the non-mormons in my extended family seem to be busier donating time to charitable organizations. I think the mormons donate their time to the church and "count that" as charitable giving.

Last week our ward took it's turn feeding the poor at the Presbyterian's building. Next week the Lutherns may do it.
Joseph Smith said, "We are to feed the hungry, to clothe the naked, to provide for the widow, to dry up the tear of the orphan, to comfort the afflicted, whether in this church, or in any other, or in no church at all, wherever we find them."
We aren't any better or worse than most other groups. Some times we are more organized or better prepared for an emergency. A lot of churches sent relief after Katrina. We sent generators and chain saws, too.

I know a family of Mormons, they are realy nice. There are 4 kids and 2 parents. Honestly I think it depends on how they are brought up. The oldest child smokes and isn't the nicest, but then again the two girls are really nice and help out...WAY TOO MUCH!!!!

I know some Mormons and they're very nice people. I don't know how they live since I'm not with them 24/7, but since Mormonism stresses works as part of their "road to godhood", I'd say "probably".

I have done work with the Mormons and also with other Christians. In my experience, Mormons tend to practice what they preach within their community. However, it is difficult to generalize entire populations of people. There are practicing and non-practicing people in all faiths, and at all points on the spectrum.

Anyone is charitable, atheist are amongst some of the top contributors in the USA. I just don't like the crap that they spread from their religion. . .
BTW, the aren't Christians. Christians believe in the Bible and the Bible only. No Mormon book for them. . .

If I had to choose I think I would give that honor to the Amish. As for the Mormons, just take a look at this article about the Mountain Meadows Massacre, that will give you an idea as to their degree of charity and veracity.
