Does it bother the religious that you pay homage to the old Gods daily when referring to the days of the week? (It is the same in Spanish, French, and Italian, too)

Don't you think it blasphemous to "bring false gods before" yours?

Monday (Moon day) Tuesday (Tiwaz) Wednesday (Woden's Day (aka Odin) Thursday (Thor's Day) Friday (Frig) Saturday (Saturn) and Sun day. Although Sunday in the romance languages is usually called the sabbath.

And what about your Achilles tendons? Achilles was a demi god much like your Jesus (half human, half deity).

Thor rules all days, but to be fair and to spare confusion he only kept Thursday for himself.

Actually, I'm really really happy about this. I'm glad at least some small part of the Way survived to this day. As it is, every day is special and in itself, a worship.

Also, I love this fact for the time when some christian fundie says: why don't you work on Sundays, it's our holy day/ or why don't you work on christmas if you don't believe in it...
It's so easy to reply: I'll stop marking that occasion the second you stop using the names of our Gods for the days of the week.

________
Btw, in romanic languages, Saturday is called Sabato. Not Sunday.

No more than the homage to Roman gods in the months.

January - Janus
February - Februalia
March - Mars
May - Maia
June - Juno
July - Julius (Caesar)
August - Augustus (Caesar Octavian)

Again, just as primoa says. Just because I have to live with the naming of the days of the week doesn't mean I "bring false gods before" God. < rolls eyes >

Nice troll attempt, but ...

And Jesus isn't a demi-god.

Today is Thursday........big deal.

I'm still saved by the blood and going to heaven when I die...

And by the way....I put up my Christmas tree every year to celebrate the birth of Christ....regardless of the day He was actually born.....

Am I going to hell?

NO WAY.......
