It is so cool to see many of our Muslim sisters being clone in yahoo answers. Yes Cool, you know why? because that means that Islam is hitting someone somewhere. The fact is that instead of stirring people away from Islam the people who show this kind of hate is simply throwing more friends our way! Yes friends, because people see how unfairly we Muslims have been treated by the media. I am so happy that people are finding the truth by themselves. Islam is a religion of peace and too often people judge us by what some people do because of their culture or upbringing and too often what they do has nothing to do with Islam. I learn Islam from books Elhamdulillah, not from people. I became Muslim because of my devotion to God and because Islam is the Truth for me. I respect others and their beliefs and so I expect to be respected. I do not care if you are Jewish, Christian, Buddhist, Atheist, Pagan, Hindu, Taoist, Whatever you might be as long as you are nice you have a friend in me.

if only people realize that we are all equal, created by the same God/Allah/...., and that He Himself created us with different colours, races, sex, languages...etc, if we only realize this obvious Truth.............. this world will be definitely a tolerant peaceful world.

sure, too bad the feeling is not always reciprocated, there is where we have zee problems....their religions don't love me :(

Ya, know that is great and all. I really think so, but it is hard for me to believe that that is really what religion teaches.

Let me ask, if what you are saying is true.

Sura (5:51) - "O you who believe! do not take the Jews and the Christians for friends; they are friends of each other; and whoever amongst you takes them for a friend, then surely he is one of them; surely Allah does not guide the unjust people."

Sura (5:80) - "You will see many of them befriending those who disbelieve; certainly evil is that which their souls have sent before for them, that Allah became displeased with them and in chastisement shall they abide."

Sura (9:23) - "O ye who believe! Choose not your fathers nor your brethren for friends if they take pleasure in disbelief rather than faith. Whoso of you taketh them for friends, such are wrong-doers"

Sura (3:85) - "And whoever desires a religion other than Islam, it shall not be accepted from him, and in the hereafter he shall be one of the losers."

I'm not trying to say islam is worst than any other tribe (trust me they all got problems) but this certainly doesn't sound like friendship to the rest of us. Islam seems very clear in teaching that there is no equality between believers and unbelievers, and hence no basis for a relationship of peers.

Let me ask you a real question:
Do you respect disbelief, even though allah hates it so much?
Under Islamic law, would I be equal to a muslim person? Would a pagan be able to practice their religion? Are they the worst of people?
Can I visit someone in Makka, or will I defile it?
Am I a kaffir? Is a Kafir a bad thing? Therefor: If I'm a kafir...am I a bad thing?

The reason I bring it up, is because, really in a world of religions will we all able to really be friends, unless we ignore the religions...just a bit.

Honestly, I would love it if you could just explain this all away for me, and help me sllep better at night.

I agree that at the moment the Muslim community are getting a hard time from the media.

Could it be that, whilst I accept that the majority of Muslims are peace loving people, there appears to be a distinct lack of distancing themselves from extremists.

If there were to be more condemnation of extremists, instead of what appears to be an embarrassed silence, Muslims generally would get more support.

I think a persons understanding and spiritual relationship with the Creator is very personal and is what it is, not good or bad but simply their understanding. I also think this changes and evolves as we mature. I am not threatened by an others beliefs and encourage all to keep expanding their knowledge and keep asking those questions! Yes - we should tolerate and encourage one another.

I like many Jews, Christians, Buddhists, pagans, Hindus, and Muslims. But I don't like their religions. I like many atheists, and their stance on religious superstitions.

I love everyone too....except those rotten New Zealanders. I mean come on, King Kong sucked! What the hell is wrong with Peter Jackson? Legolas would have taken that monkey down with 2 arrows tops.

Not per se. I love a lot of individual people for reasons unrelated to their religion, so if some of them fall into one or more of the religious categories you've mentioned, it's only a coincidence and not any part of the reason for my loving them.
