I'm dating a guy who is to me amazing, except he wants his first kiss to be with his wife, along with everything else, i understand everything but the kissing thing i'm having trouble with, weve been together for about 3 months now, and he has kissed me on the cheek once, that is it, i really like him and i guess i'm willing to deal with it, but t does bother me, and eventually i'm sure will bother me even more, i dont know what to do. he is very religious, but it doesnt say in the bible anywhere that kissing out of wedlock is bad..... its his own thing i guess?? what can i do ......i'm 20 he is 23... I really do respect him on this, not many guys can do what he is doing, but at the same time it still bugs me a little bit, should i talk to him about it, let it go.... i dont know, its just weird because when were together at times where normally people would kiss, its like akward and i have to turn away because i want to kiss him, he says he has wanted to kiss me, but it all goes back

Islam teaches us that we our duty-bound to honor the elderly, and that our mother is the most deserving of honor. She must be obeyed in everything. For a person in our religion to do anything against his mother is going against Islam. What do you think of this quote?

To every young person who honors the old, on account of their age, may god apoint those who shall honor him in his years.

Verily, to honor an old one is showing respect to God.

Heaven lieth at the feet of mothers.

"O Messenger of God! Verily I have done a great crime; is there any act by which I may repent?" He said, "Have you a mother?" "No," said the questioner. "Have you an aunt?" asked Muhammad. He said, "Yes, I have." Muhammad said, "Go, do good to her, and your crime will be pardoned."

It's though they know god better than their neighbors or their friends. You ask them anything about god and they can provide an answer. What makes them experts?

So I am a Religious Studies / Anthropology dual major at U.C. Berkeley and I was wondering if there are any other Comparative Religions and Religious Studies students in R&S. Not seminary students but people who study religions from a secular perspective. Seems like most people in R&S are laypeople, not academics or religious leaders.

Oh Petey, Oh Petey
You're like a son to us
We miss you, We miss you
If I get near him you can bet
I won't miss him with this

I'll cook you cake and gingerbread
Bring you tea in bed on a tray
We'll slave while you go fishing
You'll get permission to run and play
These tears oughta show you I care

Come back, by cracky we'll share
The happiest home in these hills...in these hills!
Gonna snag him, gag him, drag him through town
Put his head in the river, let the pup drown
Trap him, strap him, wrap him in a sack
Yeah!

Tie him screaming to a railroad track
We'll have you sing in chapel
You'll be the apple of Momma's eye
I'll tend to all your sowing and do your mowing
So just rely on me

Dang, we know you're out there
It's late, we're waiting to share
The happiest home in these hills...in these hills!

Gonna paw him, claw him, saw him in half
When he cries out for mercy we'll just laugh
Beat him, heat him, eat him for dessert
Yeah!
Roast him gently so the flames won't hurt

We'll swim and you'll go camping
You'll be a champ in your own backyard
Our love is overflowing, it keeps on growin'
You'll sleep good knowing you're home in these hills...
We're gonna string him from a tree
In these hills
We're gonna sting him like a bee
In these hills
We're gonna spill him on his head
In these hills
We're gonna fill him full of lead
In these hills

I used to get really mad at people who go to the community hang-outs and just get drunk and hook up for one night stands... but since I haven't been able to hold down a steady relationship lately, I go to the pool and main street to meet people... and I usually end up getting drunk and hooking up with the bisexual emo guys. I'm not really happy with this lifestyle, but I don't know what else to do. Any ideas on finding a more healthy relationship?

I saw this question on yahoo and thought it was a very interesting one. I also found it interesting how most of the women were perfectly fine with having men pay for them while most men were not very happy. In my opinion having the man pay most of the time or all of the time is really unfair. That is an outdated and antiquated custom that worked well when women didn't have money or jobs to pay for their own food. However, in today's society, women also work and some make more money than men. I think if women demand equal rights they should demand it in every aspect of life not just the areas that suit them and keep quiet when it is to their benefit to not speak up. I don't think paying for someone else's food has any connection to pride and men have been brainwashed into thinking that. I also don't think it is cheap if a man refuses to pay. I think it is just fair for women to offer to pay and pay some of the times when dining out. What do you guys think?

It on Sunday like the Jewish folks do? I think we observe it on Sunday because of the difference in our calander, but I could be wrong. God tells us in the ten commandments to keep the day holy, so why or why not do you think that observing our traditional day as opposed to the traditional Jewish day is important or not? I would like to hear from Jewish folks also!
Thank you, and may the Lord bless you!

So many other thinkers and disturbers of the peace had plenty written about them, during their lifetime...Spartacus, for example? Socrates?
Why is there a big zero about Jesus? Did nobody think ressurecting people and turning water into wine was an event worth writing down? Why didnt Jesus find the time to write anything himself, as every other philosopher of the day would? Why is it the oldest known records of the life of Jeus were written many years after his death?

is it because any conviction of guilt or seeking for the things of god comes from god, that one who sins to far has no desire for god, and that is the reason they are beyound repentance?

I'm looking for a bible study partner. I'm catholic, so if you're not i guess we could compare and contrast, but i would prefer a catholic partner. Someone to read the same things, and then exchange emails discussing what we believe and think. Thanks everyone.
