Yes, he smoked hand made Cuban cigars, as well as cigarettes. His heavy smoking and eating led to bronchitis, and he had several such severe attacks that he was unable to breathe if he lay down. This led to his eventual death as the result of a stroke.

Good heavens! He smoked and he boozed and was an indefatigable womanizer -(his favorite mistress was Alice Keppel - the great-great grandmother of Camilla.) A more louche, untrustworthy, gourmandizing King would be hard to find.
