two things are united;
they fight up until death;
but both of them we need every day to live.
What are we?

I WILL CAST TERROR INTO THE HEARTS OF THOSE WHO DISBELIEVE. THEREFORE STRIKE OFF THEIR HEADS AND STRIKE OFF EVERY FINGERTIP OF THEM. THIS IS BECAUSE THEY ACTED ADVERSELY TO ALLAH AND HIS MESSENGER; AND WHOEVER ACTS ADVERSELY TO ALLAH AND HIS MESSENGER - THEN SURELY ALLAH IS SEVERE IN REQUITING (EVIL). THIS - TASTE IT, AND (KNOW) THAT FOR THE UNBELIEVERS IS THE PUNISHMENT OF FIRE.
~Koran 8: 12

Hello, I'm the ignorant Canadian, and I was wondering if someone could interpret this verse for me.

I'm a christian (apparently one to be punished); is Allah going to come and kill me or what... This verse supports the whole terrorist thing... Was the Koran secretly written by Americans to appease the people during the war on terror...

I know acid gives you a pretty hard trip. But are there any other hallucinogens that are even more mind blowing? I am talking about the actual experience, not the dosage amount.

I've grown a fancy to Japanese, and wanted to become an interpreter of English for natives in Japan, or perhaps vice-versa. However, I believe there aren't that many Japanese in America, and English is widely-known already in Japan. Spanish is my second choice. Are Spanish interpreters needed in America? Are English interpreters needed in Japan? And finally, if both of these are no, what language is in high demand (and will continue to be for years ahead) in the US?

Isn't it pointless to ask that? You get two chances to choose the section, it's obviously intended. Shouldn't you just answer the question (with an appropriate answer) or not answer at all?

Answering 'why is this in the religion section?' would be in violation of yahoo's guidelines, actually. *gasp*

Tonight a family of 6, The mother, an 18 year old boy, 17 year old, a 13 9 and 5 year old girls are stepping off an airplain into Grand Rapids MI. They are from a refugee camp in Rwolanda (French I believe) with nothing. They have no clothes, or any personal belongings. Our church is sponcering them and we got them a fully furnished house (temporary for 2 months) and all of the extras. They have "toasters, crock pots, can openers, dishwasher", and so on. They have never seen these things and don't know how to use them. I will be going in to teach them what to do, but they don't speak English and I don't speak French.

All lables for food like "rice, beans, tomatoes, flour, salt and pepper" will be in English.

Can someone please name the "item" and type the following message for me so I can introduce myself and we can relabel items?

I noticed in the news they said that the FLDS is the original church that Prophet Joseph Smith and Brigham Young started where they have the polygamy and prophets. On the other hand the LDS church is more mainstream with closer to Christian attributes in that they have no polygamy, no child brides, and no marring your cousin. I read this on the LDS web site so I guess they are closer to Christians then the extreme Brigham Young cult.

If that is the case why is it that in Utah they have a university named after Brigham Young who sinned by having over 50 wives? They had polygamy in the old testament but then they also had stoning to death. With the FLDS they had polygamy in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.

Why would they continue this womanizing archaic practice in modern times? Were they crazy or just insensitive? Both Smith and Young did this!

I'm tired of people saying that atheists/agnostics don't believe in God because they want to avoid responsibility/are afraid. (Maybe some of us do, but most of us don't. We just don't have proof.)

I'm tired of people saying we aren't confident in our understanding, using our constant arguing as evidence. (Your religions influence society and government greatly; thus, they influence us. We also don't like to see ignorance at work.)

I'm tired of people responding to criticisms by criticizing the other side. (This more than anything shows that you don't want to think about what is being asked of you. If you respond and THEN give a criticism, that's fine and fair. However, you mostly just make the opposite claim and ask us how we prove that.)

What does ANY of this accomplish except self-deception? You go on, deciding the truth for everyone else as if YOU have the authority to do so. I'm tired of questions with no answers because of senseless bickering.

Wouldn't lying about invisible beings like Santa, Tooth Fairy, Easter Bunny, etc....then later telling your kids they're fake disrupt your teaching on God. Wouldn't it confuse them?

Don't they distract from God?
