Why go to a bar? The only acceptible thing I could come up with is live music and unique stories. People with travel experiences(ireland) unquie points of view(band members with kids). That's what I learned tonight. What do you think, success stories welcome, uunique point's of view greatly appreciated.

Hinduism is 10000+ years old?
IN RAMAYNA (HINDU EPIC) THEY HAVE mentioned about elephants with three tusks
in the begining it seemed rediculous, but finally it was proved to be true,
but studies show that such kind of elephants did exist before 3000000 yearS
IN VEDAS WE GET A COMPLETE VIEW OF THE SARASWATI RIVER
STUDIES SHOW THAT IE USED TO FLOW BEFORE 10000 YEARS
AGAIN scientists have got some traces of the bridge(BETWEEN SOUTH INDIA AND SRI LANKA) made by prince rama of india hwome hindus worship as a god
THERE 172 OTHER THINGS WHICH PROVE THIS GREAT HINDUISM TO BE OLDER THAN EVEN 100000 YEARS
SO ISNT THERE ANY CONFLICT BETWEEN SCIENCE AND HINDUISM

I recently started going to this new gay bar that has a bit more of a leather and blue collar scene, and somewhat more cruisey than most gay bars. I've never really seen women there, it's basically a men's bar. Now my female friend insisted on coming with me one night, she said she hates going to straight bars becuase she gets unwanted attention by the men and doesn't get that from gay men. Now, after she had a few drinks she started carrying on, and getting loud, and it seemed to me, it was because she wasn't getting attention. The men there were looking to meet other men, and nobody would really talk to her. And I got a few dirty looks from guys for bringing her there. And finally the bartender 'suggested' we leave. Now I want to go back to this bar tomorrow night, they are having a party and it's probably going to be a bit raunchy. How can I tell my friend she is not welcome? She is the type of person to show up anyway, even if I said I was going alone. How do I keep her from going?

I figure it is all about six Virtues:

1.) Good family
2.) Good friends
3.) Good memories
4.) Strong purpose/goal
5.) Lover/husband/wife
6.) Religion/spirituality

So say you are missing family and friends in you life, then the remaining four Virtues must become more imporatant to fill the "void" (think of a pie chart with missing pieces - it doesn't matter which other Virtues become more important). Or, if you are a religous person, and you are missing five of the other Virtues, then it must be a huge thing in you life to fill the "void".

If a Virtue is missing or is lacking (and is desired), then this accounts for why we feel "empty" or "lost" at certain times in our lives. *Not every Virtue is for everybody; however, if you don't want it, then it is crucial for other Virtues to take it's place.*

Are there any Virtues missing? Is my theory too overly simplistic?

*It should also be noted that you must never cause suffering to others.*

My siser-in-law just informed me that her sister (and 11 year old son) would be coming in to town tomorrow to stay at her house and visit for a couple weeks. That means they will more than likely be accompanying my brother and sister-in-law to my Mom's house on Christmas day where the family is gathering. My mother is stressing out because none of us have ever met these people and my sister-in-law thinks we should all buy or at least chip in for a gift for her sister and son so that they will have something under the tree that day. I tend to agree with Mom that it should be my bro and sis' in law's responsibility to get them gifts because these relatives are staying at their house. What's the right thing to do? I want to welcome them to Christmas dinner but to expect everyone to buy them gifts?

How come the only thing that I am seeing come out of Aethiests mouths around here, are slanderous things about Christians. I understand that us Christians can be pretty narrow minded sometimes but why such awful topics like... "Atheists - in what way do Christians make your life miserable?" "Isnt saying you have the truth a little arrogant?" "Why people are so dumb and lack of commonsense at all?" "Why do christians have to be so ignorant insensitve and even rude?"

Don't get me wrong I see some from the other side saying ridiculously insulting things like "I USUALLY HAVE ATHEIST WASH MY CAR ,WHY ARE THEY SO DUMB?" or "Are atheist woman just simply too ugly to love?" Christians acting like this clearly aren't practicing what they preach.

But don't you think it makes you sound arrogant? I mean you sure aren't making me want to go drop my walk with the Lord and live life as a hate filled person. It doesn't make me question my faith at all either. It really makes you sound ignorant

I'm a christian, a follower of Jesus, and I need some tips on trying to persuade her that her bible isnt the same as the Holy Bible! Its like they are programmed to have a rebuttal or to cite a verse out of the New World Translation to twist a christian in a knot.

WHAT is the role of Satan - he, above all, should know that he can't beat God.
Are the Christians mistaken in their view of Satan?
(I don't remember much of an argument about that apple coming from Adam or Eve - or Lilith)

I feel circumcision is mutalation. I know it is praticed in the christian religion but why do the non christian parents perform this barbaric pratice on their children? Please stop this and wait until your child is old enough to make the decision themselves. Doctors say if you do not have it done that it can cause urinary tract infections. I do not think it is the foreskin that causes the infection, but the parent not cleaning the child well enough. It also can cause many problems worse than a minor infection and isn't even recomended by doctors. As a circumcised man I wish this had not been done to me. I also wish to hear other men's opinion on this subject. Do you wish this had/had not been done to you and why. I also wish to hear from women. Do you prefer a man circumcised or not and why.

If you don't believe in god or satan then just pretend you do. Would you like grab a cross or quote bible verses or invite him to tea? What would you do if you met the "ultimate evil"?

Religion is man made that's exactly why there's athiests, they don't know what to believe. Christianity is a belief not a religion. Pentecostal, Catholic, Babtist and so on are religions. John the babtist didn't attend the babtist church. He babtized people by water.

"the faith we have doesn't matter, but what matters is that we have faith" -Serendipity. (Dogma, the movie)

the fact that we have a beautiful divinely inspired faith (a personal relation with God) should be the only important thing. and what that faith is should not be the important thing.

does anyone at all believe this?
