Maybe they think they are born smart but anyone that has endured the hard work involved to be truly intelligent knows it doesn't work like that.
Overall I think they're just lazy.

Actually, they're smart because they're out working instead of wasting their time praying to some false idol. See, while your in church praying, you lost an hour of minimum wage you can earned. Then you get off like you think your a big shot and waste about $10 (almost twice your hourly wage at work) just to pay some aetheist to clean your car (which would take them about 15 mins).
When it all adds up, you're losing money while they're making money. But don't you worry, they'll drop by and donate some cans for you and your family to have a Happy Holiday this year.
