Imagine a book with many unbelievable characters, including a talking snake, demons and flying angels with many references to magic, sorcery, mystic visions, reanimation and fortune telling.

How is it possible that rational adults can view these types of books as mythology or science fiction in all other realms of their lives except for religion?

What causes this temporary suspension of logic?

Sing a song of sixpence,
A pocket full of rye;
Four and twenty blackbirds
Baked in a pie.
When the pie was opened,
They all began to sing.
Now, wasn't that a dainty dish
To set before the King?

The King was in his countinghouse,
Counting out his money;
The Queen was in the parlor
Eating bread and honey.
The maid was in the garden,
Hanging out the clothes.
Along there came a big black bird
And snipped off her nose!

I read comments from atheists saying that Christians push our beliefs down your throats...how are they doing so? I am a Christian, and I don't push my beliefs down anyone's throat, unless you count when I answer questions here.

And are you really angry with Christians, or just what we believe in?

I know God gave of choice, but if he is everywhere and good, how do we even have the oppurtunity to make an evil decision. Shouldn't ever decision we make have a positive only outcome?

There is no way we can know if it is or isn't if we can't remember if we've ever lived before.

We live a sinful life and then reborn back into it to try again and so on until we get it right.

I've read before that reincarnation is one of the oldest forms of religion and more people in the present time believe in it than anything else, this idea would explain why.

This was a answer which i got - The Bible gives the exact measurements for the ark that Noah allegedly built. It is far to small to fit a pair of every animal. It's simple physics. -

Bible is a collection of fairy tale stories written in the tribal period. Where men are more into agriculture and ..you know the village type. what do you think about my dumbness?

Read the books "Misquoting Jesus", "The End of Faith" and "Letter to a Christian Nation" and let me know what it is that keeps you "believing" in Christianity, God, Jesus, the Bible, etc. The modern world is being torn apart by religious extremists, as well as moderates (read The End of Faith to find out why I mention moderates). Is it not time to swallow your pride and finally accept that this facade of religion is truly hurting people? Faith is no answer when there is so much proof in the other direction. It's not ignorance, because the truth is out there. Stupidity is not an answer, there are many intelligent people who still think irrationally. It just boggles my mind on how so many people can still believe, or at least say they believe. When I attended church, I left my heart and mind open to God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, whatever, and did not feel anything during 30 yrs. Why lie to each other and yourself when you are partially responsible for so much hurt in the world.

I am completely lost on what to get my dad. My mom's getting him what I was gonna get him, so I have nothing. He's a huge fan of the three stooges, but has everything with their faces on it. He's also a fan of the cubs and the bears, but id rather not waste my money on that stuff unless I had no other choice.

The other guy flirts with him often, but not sexually. He has a sexy,feminine voice and looks pretty cute.My friend asks for some suggestions 4 some situations in which he can touch and hug his fren's body. There in India, it is considered weird. But my friend tells me that people there don't know anything about lesbians or gays. Plz... Plz tell me some situations.

Feel free to be cheezy. Personally my favorite Christmas gift was when my family got snowed in my house for like three days and so instead of scattering to the four winds we were forced to be together and have some quality time. We spent the whole time playing board games!
