I have a shinny metal star shapped thing that you put hot pots on. It is actually really heavy but the first year me and my wife lived together we had the tree and could not deside on a topper. Finally I got a little tired on no picking something. Went into the kitchen got some wire and bam.
We do it every year and always spend hours each year trying to find something we like and still can't.
