hmmm.... If I were god rewriting them for todays world..

1) Thou shalt love the lord, the one that touches your spirit and fills you with joy above all else. And when He returns, we well not be allowed to turn to people of different faiths and shout a collective "HA!!!" Because god does not love a sore winner.

2)Thou shall be allowed to form a union for the sole purpose of procreating,,, which means a person having XY and the other having XX chromosomes will be allowed to marry... If two of these same set chromosomes are intertwined, I will send diseases.. (Honestly how many gay people live to be at least 70, the homosexual, heterosexual difference in male deaths are staggering. look it up!)

3) Thou union of XX and XY, each will be forced to keep a journal, where upon the other will read it once a week, to rectify any mistakes or feelings that may lead to divorce, and stop playing these mind games, people

4) Respect all elders, regardless of kinship.. For the fountain of knowledge overflows in these under-looked treasures.

5)All Clergy men shall be allowed to marry!! How can you profess the love of god if you can't partake in the joys of loving the female body, which is a temple in the eyes of god?

6)Each individual nation will have social issues taken care of first, before engaging in war. That is, the cost of war shall be equal to Universal health care, education and Welfare.

7) Thou shalt not believe what a disgruntled scientist says as well as professors of sullied pasts have deemed the truth. No, you are not primates... Remember, those smarter than thou people, I created them too, whether they like to believe it or not.

8)Thou shalt NOT discriminate against others, whether skin is of different pigmentation, whether they are not in same social standing as you, if they come from a lesser developed country, etc... Remember, If I walk amongst you now, you'd probably turn me away, because of my sandals and worn linens..

9)Thou shalt not listen to any music if the words "bitches, hoes, tricks, krunk " and any other word that has implications that men are superior than women, and shall be looked down upon... Especially if these words are used in combination, god forbid that they be the chorus, because whose worse: The person buying this crap or the "genius" writing it?

10) Thou shall always be curious and always look for the answers yourselves, thou shall hold me in YOUR OWN heart and NEVER persuade others to believe as you do, for their time shall come, just as yours did... Never put man on a pedestal, for man is destined to fall..

Actually, the new covenant church was given the power by God to do just that, and they were completed long ago. To read them, go here:

The original ten commandments expired about 2000 years ago, which is OK, because they never saved people, anyway.

These work just fine but a much shorter version Jesus Gave us; Luke 10:27 And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.
This pretty much covers it all.

I agree, God doesn't make mistakes, the original 10 are more than fine....once we try and change what God has made, we pervert the truth. I know that you probably meant this as a joke-type question :)
