I know I am, I never really go out am scared unless I have a drink thats the only time I can socialise becasue I feel calm and care too much what people think of me when i am sobre I dont wan to be like this but dont know what I can do to try and change things?

I had a bad dream last night 2 teens broke into my house while i was home and i got hurt and so did my fiancee ... .The thing is in the dream i was walking out my back door and i looked at the bottom of the stairs and saw one guy ... now i'm scared to be alone in my house... Help

I am decent looking. I have friends. I have a job. Facts. Yes, I should be happy... however I am not.

I am not excited or proud of any part of my life. I am ashamed to be as old as I am and be as lame as I am. Secretary? With barely enough money to pay rent and bills? I don't even know what I want to do with my life. I don't want to even get up. I can afford to take the bus OR buy ramen. What a GREAT CHOICE!

Ignoring the feeling and pasting on a large fake smile is not working. Therapy... not working enough. I still can't stand being me.

I have tried getting a creative job. I have tried new places. I have sucked up everything like a vacuum cleaner with a giant smile. Yeah, it is all good.

Can I succeed at ANYTHING?

There isn't any more psyching myself into that *gee, Beaver... tomorrow will be better* krap.

I need something in my life that is just mine that I am proud of that makes me feel like life is worth getting up for.

And, please... no religion.

I'm a shy person. I remember always being shy since I was a kid. I think it was because I was overweight in childhood and adolescence and I got bullied and put down.

Do people realise this about shy people or do they just think they are being lazy or stand offish?

What if we just had "suggestions" (in case your reasoning is that we have laws to tell the 'dumb' people how to live safely)

- Or are laws to save people from thinking?

(Doncha just love it when people admit that the law is of no real value e.g. "legal nothing... she's not 18..." )

I'm having a terrible time coping about a guy I was w/ for a year & half. When we were together he told me he wanted to commit suicide. It was an ongoing issue so I recommended he talk to a professional but he wanted to talk to only me. I tried my hardest to help him.Come to find out he kept a secret that he had a child he never met w/a one night stand before we met.I helped him come to terms with it & when he finally met the child he ended our relationship to pursue one with the mother of his child. I found all this out when I was in the hospital this past summer.I was pretty ill & the response I got was never to call him again.There after he manipulated me into thinking I aided him into going back to the mother because I told him he should be a part of his child's life. They r not together anymore.But I'm having an awful time dealing w/ how he treated me after I helped him with his serious threats of suicide. Ironically, i'm seeking prof. help b/of this:( I'm not looking for sympathy
