Come to the Darkside ... We have cookies!
Embracing your darker abitions is fine, so long as it doesn't involve very much real harm to anyone, without their explict consent. (some people will let you do anything)
Sometime it just feels good to be bad, a small break from the monotiny of everyday life.

Without question, its fun to be mean to people. This is due to the fact that it makes us feel powerful. It is usually those of us that feel like we are lacking control in our own life who are draw to acts of violence and/or saying things calculated to hurt. For example, you will almost never see a sucessfull business man go to a bar with the intention of having a fight by the end of the night. This however is quite a common practise among men who lack a sense of self worth.
As to whether you should ebrace it (as I have most certainly done at times in my life) I would say that the answer is definatley no. If you have just a little empathy for others, the rush that comes from harming others (be it physically or mentally) is eventually replaced by guilt.
Those who lack empathy will get just the thrill. That is how serial killers an serial rapists get started.

No, it is not fun, and no, you should not "embrace" it. You need to control it. I understand your feeling that "it is fun to be mean," but what you really are feeling is the satisfaction that comes with vengeance or retribution. It is not fun to be cruel to someone who does not deserve it. It is heartbreaking when you realize you have been cruel to an innocent.
Your dark side is properly the side which limits and protects, which wields the weapon. But the weapon (whatever kind) needs to be wielded with JUSTICE. Not mercy, perhaps, but justice. And mercy, too, is sometimes justified.
When I'm angry with someone, I don't curse them, even though I am a witch. I acknowledge that I could be wrong, and my anger unreasonable. So I light a brown candle, not a black one, and say "Let justice be done." If I am right, the person will suffer. But if I am wrong, I will not suffer for having wished harm to the innocent.

I have to warn you against that. HOW YOU TREAT OTHERS ALWAYS COMES BACK TO U, there is some kind of order out there, some call it karma.
I knew someone who practiced black magic, and they did it on people they didnt like, and every person they cursed something bad happened to them, like they broke their leg, got ill or suffered misfortune. However later on that guy i knew had a bad car accident and lost his legs. Coz while he was in hospital he caught the MRSA bug in his open wounds and his legs got gangrenous. Docs tried to save him with powerful antibiotics but the infection kept coming back and the docs then had to amputate both his legs. Hes now in a wheel chair, and experiences phantom limb pain all the time.
So be careful how you treat others, it may come back to haunt you in unexpected ways. I would listen to what "leighton a" (above) says.

If you feed your sin nature it will grow stronger than your good side. You will become like Dr. Jeckyl and Mr. Hyde until the evil nature is not controllable but instead controls you most all the time. The answer is No. Self discipline is required to maintain morality, justice and equality in this world.

Stay away from the Dark Side (Luke).
Or someday you will meet your real father in hand-to-hand battle,
and be forced to kill him.

no, don't embrace your dark side, smother it with your light side. maybe you want to be mean because you think it's funny. so why not use your sense of humor to your advantage and use your "light" side to be a friend instead of a hater.

Do as thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law. Love is the law, love under Will.
(just remember everything you do, comes back to you threefold. SO, harm ye none- lest you wish to be harmed as well)
