does anyone homeschool? my daughter is 3 1/2 and i don't know if i want her in the school system yet. i am thinking about starting her off slowly in a preschool program from home, and maybe even continuing homeschooling her beyond that. we are in georgia, and the school system here is not very good. what's your experience? i'm interested in scheduling, working around your other children, discipline, etc. thanks!

This boy is all brains. He reads, speaks his mind, can count to 100 , knows his planets, shapes, colors, loves clocks n calendars, and is starting to understand what addition and subtraction is. He surfs the web like nobody's business. Physically he can jump, canter, climb, dance in rythum to a beat (he's into drumming too), but when it comes to rolling a ball, catching a ball, or riding a tricycle - he just doesn't seem to get it. He just learned how to move forward in a 'little tyke' kid car. Before that he would only push the car from behind or push backwards. I'm not sure if I should be doing anything. But I don't want my son to be the only one on the team who doesn't know how to catch or ride a bike. I don't want opinions, so if that's all you have, please don't bother. I need some real information about child development here.

When did your baby start to talk? Mine isn't talking yet and I'm concerned. I was a late talker as well. He will be 2 next month.

my 3yr old is extrememly extroverted. I mean she will run across a crowded store to speak to total strangers. I can't seem to get it through to her without losing her personality that she can't do that.
Does anybody have any ideas how I could get her to understand without scaring her, or completely curbing her personality?

My baby is 16 months old and he is a very fussy eater. His wt is 18 pounds 15 oz. and head circumference 44.5 cm.We r worried about his small head as it is below 5th percentile. He doesnt take cereals, breads or proper main meals which can help him gain weight. He is still on my feed which he takes twice a day.If he eats somethings he is off by it for 2-3 weeks. He is active and completed his milestones well in time.I don't know how to make him eat meals properly and external milk.I have tried pediasure and other flavored milk but he does not take.He drinks juice from glass or cup but not milk.Anybody facing a similar problem and any solution for it?

my 19mth old has has a spotty itchy rash mostly on his lower back, but the rest of his body has gone slighlty rough feeling. he's had it now for 7weeks. it fades then flares up again, but never goes completly. he went into hospital 3weeks ago cause he had a temp as well they kept him in thinking it may be scarlet fever, results were neg. they then sent us home saying it was eczma. gave us some vasaline type cream. he still isn't 100% well still has a runny nose (acting his normal self) but the rash is not improving has anyone had anything similar or any tips on what i can do to get rid of it as i dont like all these creams etc.

Here's what happened...About a month and a half ago my son's molars came in (he's 17 mnths). He had 103 temp 3 nights in a row. He ended up in the emergency room. I gave him milk in a sippy cup to soothe him and calm him down. I was seriously concerned.
Now that he is better he is still waking up for milk. If he does not get it he cries like a crazy baby being tortured. It got to the point that I just let him cry until he wore himself out. The 1st night it lasted for 45 min, the 2nd night 35, and the 3rd night...after 35 min the police came to my door and said that there were numerous complaints, even from 2 apartments over.
We were questioned and it was horrible because that day he actually fell on his forehead and had a huge scrape and bruise.
After the initial shock that my baby's crying was really annoying everyone I knew that I was just doing the right because he slept through 2 nights.
But now he's back up again screaming for it. What do I do?

My son will be 3 on Thurs. And he is not even intersted in potty training. He will not pull down his shorts. He will not tell me when he wants to go potty. Hubby has shown him what to do( standing up and sitting) and he is just not intersted. He is not a big talker. He only talks when he wants to, which is not a lot. My Mother in Law tells me that I should throw him in Daycare so that they will teach him to go potty and to talk better. I don't feel I need to spend that kind of money to do that. He would rather be with my husband & I then be with other kids. I take him to the park and to playgroups and he wants to be with me. I know he needs to be in pre-school but, there isn't a preschool here that will take a child that is not potty trained. I do want to get him potty trained, but I don't wait to push him. I don't believe in using candy as an award for going potty. Any ideas or suggestions? I have bought him big boy undies and he will just pee through them.

My 4 year old son wants everything just perfect. If it something is not done right he has to back up and do it over again and if we refuse he screams and cries. Is this just a way of him testing us to see if we'll actually do it? We've put him in time out and it has slacked off a little. We never give in.

My daughter is 19 months I decided to go ahead and give it a try. I bought her a potty and a book. The first day I sat on the toliet and put her own her potty she peed (think it was just good timimg on my part) Then I continued every 1/2 hour to put her on it but she never did it that day again she always went in her diaper .The next day she peed in the toliet one more time (again I think it was good timing on my part) I made a big deal about and gave her a cookie . Then the rest of the day it was the same as before nothing. Now she will not even sit on the potty for more then one second she wants to play with the toliet. Try to take it apart or trys to get in the bathtub or try to get to shampoo bottles and etc.... I don't think she even understands what I want her to do. She didn't crawl untill 10 months and walk untill 15 months. Do you think she is just a slow learner and too young to try. Should I try againl later? I am wasting alot of money on pull ups.
