I just washed all the bottles and put them away and when I served my children their (soy) milk, It always came in cups. My one friend switched her daughter to a soft top cup, because she didn't like the hard top when she wasn't with my girls.

i have a 17 month old daughter and i let her pick out her own sippy cup at age 10 months old. she picked elmo which is her favorite character and that night she was done with the bottle. i had bought those transition bottle by parents choice that has a soft sippy nipple but at 15 months i would not recomend that cause your lil one probably has quite a few teeth. just let your child go with you and pick out a cup and put his/her favorite drink in it and tell him/her that they are a big kid now and take it away. at 15 months old your child does not need to be on a bottle that is bad for their teeth. any dentist will tell you that by the age of 12 months they should be off the bottle.
sorry if i offended you in any way, i am just trying to be of help to you.

with both of my kids, I did this: i took all the day time bottles away and they only got sippy cups during the day. means lots of moans and groans from the little one for about a week. Then after they got used to that I took the night time bottle, (buy earplugs) Your 15 month old will cry for about 3 days to a week without it and then she will learn to comfort herself without it. While you are doing the night time bottle take away give her things like a blankie or a favorite doll or something that you know that she will love to replace the missing bottle. Please Please don't give her a pacifier to replace the bottle with at night as for this will start the whole process over again to get the pacifier away from her.

I switched to a sippy cup, and put juice or water in the sippy cup, and milk only in her bottle. I let her get used to this concept until she was emotionally ready to say good by to the bottle. If she or he doesnt have a stinky blanket, or a pacifier, or suck their thumb, I don't see a lot of harm in weaning off a bottle instead of going cold turkey. Mine was ready when she wanted to be a big girl to fully say good bye.

I took my daughter off the bottle at 12 months. I think the younger the better because they have less time to get attached to it. Just throw the bottles out and give the baby cup. He/she will get used to it.

wow that's kind of late.

What I did is around 10 mo he only got formula in a bottle, everything else was a sippy. At 12 mo 1 week my doctor said to take him off formula and a bottle... we did it cold turkey. I don't think he even noticed

maybe you could start by giving her one of the cups with lids on them and then eventually start taking the lid off so its like a big girls cup. and instead of giving it to her all the time, when she is hungry or thirsty try something new all the time that way she wont want milk all the time.
this is just a suggestion. my son is 8 months old and he only gets the bottle 3 times a day the rest is tin food.

try a nuby with a soft silcone top and be patient!! it will all work out fine!! if you need any help you write me back! I have a 2 year old and i weanted her off the bottle at about 9 months since she saw her cousin drinking from a cup so she wanted one. guess it was easier because her cousin does everything that she wants to do so she copycats her!

I didn't give my three any warning. I just threw them all away and replaced them with sippy cups. They cried for a few days but they took to the sippy cups when they got thirsty enough.

I know, mean. But it worked and they were fine. They even liked the sippy cups better becuase of the pictures.

I did the same with the sippy cups when I transferred them to regular cups.
