and what are their ages?

I have a 10 1/2 month old daughter, who won't take steps on her own. She stands and cruises around furniture while holding on, but when we put her in the center of the room and let go of her hand, she just stands there then eventually sits down. She doesn't want to take any steps unless someone is holding onto her. Is this normal? My mom said I was walking by myself at 10 months of age. I'm afraid my daughter is behind!

It is being treated by very strong creams. The first spot started about a year ago. Over the last few months the ring has gotten bigger and smaller rings have appeared inside the bigger one. It has become itchy and dry. The doctor believes it's eczema and is referring her to a dermatoligist. The office that takes her insurance is booked almost thourgh next year. I just dont see us waiting that long and continuing these strong creams(which arent helping). I feel she is having an allerigic reaction to something. Should we try an allergy specialist first or while we are waiting for the dermatoligist? Could this be a milk allergy?

I know mothers are protective and all but, sometimes it gets a bit out of hand.

I was with my friend who has a 1 year old boy. I forget what is was he wanted but he was screaming for it. She was trying to not give in and spoil him because whatever he wanted was quite unnecessary.

Anways, she ended up giving in and I casually said jokingly "here is the moment in time when he learns that he can get whatever he wants by screaming."

I guess that may have been a bit rude, but she freaked!! Said "how dare you" and stuff like that.

We have been best friends for like 10 years, why the hostility??

its a very funny incident. i was very scared of needles n injections that doctors use.when i was just 8 yr old, my mom took me to doctor for injection. i was not aware of that, but when i came to knew that i started shouting very loudly
it was impossible for doctor to give me injection, so my mom had to clamp her hand on my mouth to smother my screams. she kept her hand tightly pressed on my mouth until doctor was finished with his job.if she wouldnt had covered my mouth, i would have created a scene out there coz i was screaming really hard.this incident really makes me laugh till now

.thank god i didnt had a blocked nose that day.do u think that my mom did the right thing at that moment? n why?

Did it occur to you that Joan uses YA to vent her opinion instead of going at her daughter in law? everyone disagrees about things, don't you think it's better she lets of steam on YA instead of picking at everything her daughter in law does in real life? If Joan and her daughter in law got on badly, then Why TF would her daughter in law let Joan watch her kids so much???????
Why don't you all start looking at each of Joans questions as unique? I noticed yesterday that no matter what she asks, there's always a few who say "you really hate your daughter in law Joan" How TF can she hate her, when she hasn't even mentioned her???????Maybe you lot should get off her back, and start seeing the whole picture!

My son is 22 and his girlfriend just 18. They both moved back home with me rent free until they get on their feet. She said she wanted to move out here to Vegas because she did not have any support from her family when it came to being with or possibly marrying my son. They are pregnant and due at the end of July. They have no money and no jobs... She secretly tells him that I stress her out because she doesn't like when I ask her to do small household chores...(She's pregnant, not disabled)
He has moved across country and put his life on hold twice for her already. He does everything she wants... Except for this time... He finally has a chance to secure a really good job making a very good living but he has to do an apprenticeship for 4 years. Now she wants to move back to GA because her sister is pregnant now too (Her sister and my son can't stand each other) and she wants to be close to her mother now too... What about what he wants for once? Should he put his foot down?

I am a happily married (15yrs) man. My wife and I have 4 kids. I can't really ask my friends this because they will think I am weird. How long after making love do you usually wait before putting some PJ's or whatever you normally sleep in back on? When you catch your breath? After some snuggle time? In the morning? When you wake up later to use the facitlities? (not looking for numbers, just logistical ideas).

My son is 19months and still in his crib. The problem is he's huge (not fat just solid and tall) and getting him in and out of the crib is pretty hard on my back. I'm short and using a step stool to help me out.
He doesn't climb out of the crib and sleeps really well in it the only thing is he sleeps all around it, not just on one side.
so i'm scared he'll fall off even with bed rails

I had younger (19-20 years old) parents, and I know people who had older parents, and I know that there are advantages and disadvantages for each. Which did you have, and in what ways was it good or bad? For parents, why did you choose to have your children younger, or older?

my son is 7 1/2 months old. when is it appropriate to begin dicipline when he does something like pulling hair? i know hes doing it because its interesting to him and hes not ready to be diciplined yet, but when will he be? when i tell him no in a bit of a stern fashion, he gets a big smile and laughs at me, its pretty cute lol. so, when did you start telling your children NO and really meant it? when did you begin diciplining them (as in taking them away from the situation if they wont stop doing what is inappropriate?

I don't believe in letting her wear makeup, just lip gloss on special occasions. So, I just asked him to make sure he purchased some make up soap and had her cleaned up before he brought her home. He asked why. Instead of just saying ok, I will clean it off, he started in on me like I had a mental problem because I dont let her put on bright blue hooker makeup. I am trying to raise her to believe that she has natural beauty and I steer clear of makeup on her at a young age, she also does not have her ears pierced. I know this is one of the buttons that my ex likes to push, and I don't care if she does it at his house. I just asked him to clean it off before she gets home. Now I am the bad guy because I am going to have to scrub her good to get this much off. Is 6 too young to be pouring on the makeup??? I think that it is....

She dated this guy a few times, does not love him, says she wants him to give up parental rights to child and raise child alone. He has already given up parental rights previously when he got another girl pregnant. He's not a criminal or druggie. What's best for the child is the main question.

It was crowded inside a grocery store, and my son kicked an old woman in a walker and said: "MOVE IT, you old hag!!"

I scolded him inside the store and told him to apologize to the woman.

What would you have done, and what should I do if he does this again?

The government say's kids must get their vaccines or they can't go to school. But in most states, like my own, it is NOT the law. It's a mandate. I never had my shots. I've never had chicken pox, I've had the flu once and the only time I get sick is a cold I get twice a year because of the weather changing. I went to school as well, without my vaccines. There is an exemption form you can file with the school and public schools can not turn your child away as long as that is on file. So why are so many parents so obsessed with telling other parent's it's the law? Are we that gullible that we just listen to what we're told instead of looking it up ourselves?

Hey Everyone! I want to know, if anyone OWNS a GRACO DUOGLIDER LX Stroller, in the Green Tea color?
I am considering buying one, as I had the car seat when my baby was an infant, and I also have the single stroller, but since everytime I go shopping, I have a girlfriend with me, and we ussually ALWAYS have at least 2 kids with us (mine included). I wanted to see if anyone has a stroller like this one? Im looking at buying one from SEARS... What are your thoughts, is it a good stroller? What are the experiences with it being used with a baby seat as well, and a child in the back.... My son is 10 months old, and the friend of my son who will be his riding companion 8 months old until I have another baby (we are going "try" in 2008) will be the primary passengers! Does it do well holding a lot of stuff in the basket in the bottom?
Its $150. Is that odd, since I spent $100 for just the SINGLE stroller!

I'm 28 weeks pregnant with my 1st child & feeling very down. I cry everyday. Most of the time it's something to do with my fiance. Well, I feel like he doesn't really want to be with me or care about me, but he says that he does. For example, today when we woke up he asked if I wanted to go to the mall at 2. I said yes. I was so happy & excited b/c we hardly ever go anywhere/do anything together. Most of his time goes to his friends. Anyway, at about 1:30 he calls back & says let's wait until about 3 or 3:30. I said ok b/c I wasn't ready anyway. I called him at about 2:30 & ask what he's doin. He says nothin & asks what I'm doin. I said about to shower & put my clothes on. Then he suggests let's wait until tomorrow to go. I am crying my eyes out right now b/c he does this EVERYTIME that we plan to be together. It's like his friends r more important. They could plan something & he's right there. And all he can do is say that he's sorry. I feel so sad & lonely. I don't know what to do. I don't know what's wrong. I don't know if he's cheating on me or what. I feel like he's annoyed by me & doesn't really want to be with me , but just can't/won't tell me. Everytime I ask him he says that he does, but he's not doing anything to convince me that he does. Another thing that bothers me is that we hardly ever have sex. Should I just leave him alone & find someone who's willing to spend time with me??? I know that I'm not just being emotional b/c I'm pregnant. Please help!!! =(

My daughter only gets gifts for Christmas from me and her dad. Since we're separated, he spends about $250.00, and I spend about $200.00.

Does this sound like too much? after all, she doen't have grandparents or aunties and uncles buying her anything.

I don't buy alot for her throughout the year, so these are things she's been wanting but I usually can't afford. And I only got half the list!

I found myself having an affair with a married man. He as 2 young daughters. He was always complaining about his marriage but stayed in it for his children.
I recently found out that I was pregnant and that he was the father.
He is begging me to get an abortion, because his daughters would never respect him if he had another child with someone else. He says he doesn't care so much for his wife, that his worry is mainly his daughters.
I am against abortion, and can not see myself having one. But the situation is far from ideal.
I need some people to give me advice, i don't need to be judged, i know i sinned and i don't need to be reminded. This won't help at all, I just need advice.
My heart leads me to want to keep this child, but I feel like it would affect so many people's lives, including my child. I just can't think straight. I want to keep it but I don't know if it's the best option for me and the child. Also, should take the father and his family into consideration?
thanks
