Did it occur to you that Joan uses YA to vent her opinion instead of going at her daughter in law? everyone disagrees about things, don't you think it's better she lets of steam on YA instead of picking at everything her daughter in law does in real life? If Joan and her daughter in law got on badly, then Why TF would her daughter in law let Joan watch her kids so much???????
Why don't you all start looking at each of Joans questions as unique? I noticed yesterday that no matter what she asks, there's always a few who say "you really hate your daughter in law Joan" How TF can she hate her, when she hasn't even mentioned her???????Maybe you lot should get off her back, and start seeing the whole picture!

You got straight to the point why would her DIL let Joan have the kids so much, but as usual people can't see past the end of their noses!
I don't always agree with Joan but isn't that the point of YA?
She's always been very nice to me, given me some very good advice and comes across when answering my questions as funny and intelligent.
Others on here could do well do benefit from some of her life lessons!

Hey I am lost here ,as I do not know who Joan is and have not seen any of her questions. What I do know is people can jump in and give a strong opinion when they in fact know very few facts. I like to think it is possible to have have serious questions also a bit of fun and also vent our views in fact a bit of everything on YA, sounds like you have an idea what Joan is about and also Joan might find YA useful for letting off steam , That cant be bad surely x

I dont hate Joan but sometimes when all I see is her avator it is a bit frustrating-I find that I dont answer her questions because I dont know where to begin-I agree with you it does appear she is venting more than wanting to know what others say and yes its good she vents rather than causing friction with her daughter in law, but maybe if she's having this many problems she should talk to her and get her frustratrions out-or talk to her son!
But if this is how she makes herself feel better then who I am to judge---if i see her name I couldnt also not read the question rather than reply with a sarky reply just for 2 points!

I'm not a Joan hater - didn't even know who she was til i followed your link, but reading her questions she does hate her daughter in law - maybe she deserves it or maybe Joan is one of those people who never think anyone is good enough for their son (and grandchildren in this case) but seeing as how Joan is a Yorkshire woman and Yorkshire woman tend to say it like it is she would probably admit to hating her if she was asked outright!
But the overall impression from her questions and some of her answers is that she hates her!

Yahoo answers doesnt just have to be a place to ask questions..it can be a place to give your opinion on things..and sometimes it is nice to be able to let off steam and ask people that you dont know what they think on a certain situation..so if Joan asks questions just be nice..she obv has a lot on her plate at the moment and just wants to talk about it and see what other people think and for people to just be supportive of her!

I was actually gonna ask a question like this last night whip, but seeing as how I had already had 2 Violations yesterday I didn't bother. There are some people in Parenting etc who are really nasty to Joan and give horrible replies (not answers). And I'm with you if Joan and her Daughter In Law were really at loggerheads how come Joan looks after them so much.

yeah i totally agree with you chick i've also noticed that whatever she says there is always an ever present thumbs down too, joan has an opinion like we all do , her questions are well written with a lot of thought going into them as too are her answers ,the whole point of y/a is to help people or advice peeps , , a problem shared is a problem halved , all i can see is that she has "real love " for her family wheres the harm in that ? x

Well Whipass I don't go into Parenting so haven't seen what is written but I can sypathise with Joan as I have been on the end of nastiness, as you know, just for giving my opinion. Live and let live I say!

Joan doesn't HATE her daughter in law, she LOVES her son !
Mums and sons- dads and daughters- an age old 'thing'.
I could pick holes in my sons in law if I wanted to but they've all given me such lovely grandchildren -there's no problems !
I checked Joan's Q/As - why /how did she deserve all those TDs ?
She only asked questions -they were in the proper categories and I'm sure didn't break any guidelines
I agree with you wholeheartedly.

she does get annoying sometimes. And I don't agree with you, yes she can vent all she wants in YA but she needs to address this situation with her DIL, otherwise this will end in a cat fight. I don't hate Joan, but sometimes it bugs me that she doesn't say anything to the only person that needs to know!
