or do you wait and make it look like Santa had come and left them there on the night of Christmas Eve?

I put the presents we purchased for others under the tree over the weekend and just a couple for my daughter. The rest of them for my daughter, will wait until Christmas Eve after she goes to bed.

Not this year because my son is only one, but next year everything will go under the tree on Christmas Eve after he goes to bed. That's the way my parent's did it and I remember always being amazed at waking up to find so many presents under the tree where there were none!

When my daughter was younger, I waited until she was in bed Christmas Eve before putting all of the presents under the tree. The only exceptions were gifts our firends had given us, those went under the tree when we recieved them. The only problem is that I (lovely procrastinator that I am) would usually wait until that night to wrap all the presents too, so it ended up becoming more stressful than anything! As she got older, we started gradually putting the presents under the tree earlier and earlier (pretty much after she stopped believeing in Santa the person...she still thinks Santa is more of a spirit of giving thing). She doesn't seem to mind. In fact, she helps me put them there now!

We put a few of the ones from us (Mommy and Daddy) under the tree, but the really good ones from us and the ones from Santa won't be there until after our son goes to bed on Christmas Eve. I was starting to regret putting a few under the tree now, as our three - year - old keeps trying to sweet talk me into letting him open one. I guess the joke is on him, though - the only presents under the tree at the moment are clothes!
Merry Christmas!

Presents from family go under the tree now, and on Christmas Eve night, Santa presents go under the tree.

We didn't have any presents under our tree as kids (before Christmas morning). On Christmas morning, we would bring our presents for each other out of hiding in our bedrooms, and exchange them with each other. Then we opened all the ones from Santa that appeared on Christmas Eve while we were sleeping. I think everyone would have been too nosy to have any under the tree before hand! Plus it's more of a surprise that way.

I put all presents under the tree (as I get them wrapped) before Christmas, except the ones from Santa. I give one gift from Santa (can't have him get ALL the credit! ;) Plus, what they get in their stockings is also from Santa and I stuff them after the kids go to sleep on Christmas Eve

We always waited until Christmas eve so there would be the big surprise how everything looked on Christmas morning, but this year is different because we have people coming and going on different days - no one will actually be here Christmas day, so I just put them under the tree this year and am handing them out as people come.

I put presents for friends and family members under the tree as soon as I wrap them, but my husband and I wait until Christmas Eve to put our 7 year old's presents under the tree and to fill his stocking and the dog's stocking (my son gets a kick out of "Santa Paws" bringing a toy and treats for the dog). We even use different wrapping paper from everyone else's so he wouldn't realize they were from us. Now we'll do the same for our 6 month old. I can't wait to see how excited our older son is when he sees Santa brings presents for the baby too.

When the kids were younger we'd put the presents from us under there when we set up the tree and the presents from Santa on Christmas Eve.

Now they all go under when we set up the tree. None of the presents have names on them. I just wrap each child's presents in a different wrapping paper. That way they don't have a clue who's are who's and it drives them batty. LOL
