Any particular 'toys' of your own: a car, clothes, anything you really liked but had to get rid of when the kids came?

I'm an expectant dad (boy in November) and I"m writing a blog and book http://blog.almostadad.com about a guy's perspective on pregnancy.

Any info you can offer would help.

Thanks!

Sex education for girls is usually pretty comprehensive discussion. Sex education for boys usually consists of...'wear a condom' or 'make sure she's on the pill'.

After the generic 'How to put a condom on' talk at my jr. high, all the boys had to leave the room for break while the girls were taught the deeper stuff (pills, periods, etc.)

1. Do schools still separate the kids like this?

2. Would you want your young son to sit with the girls and learn all their stuff too?

Having read another story of another baby who died because they were forgotten in the back seat in this summer weather and then was found dead.

I thought of a simple idea as a reminder, Using a velcro strip through a pacifier, we fasten it on the steering wheel, to make absolute certain that we would never forget that beloved baby when our minds were elsewhere.

What do you do? Our lives are so busy these days, it is amazing how we can forget the most important things in our lives.

Arkansas couple welcomes 17th child

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - It's a girl — again — for the Duggars. Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar welcomed their 17th child, and seventh daughter, into the world Thursday.

Jennifer Danielle was born at 10:01 a.m. at Saint Mary's Hospital in Rogers, Ark., the Duggars said in an interview. Jennifer weighed 8 pounds, 8 ounces and arrived five days after Michelle's due date.

Less than 30 minutes after giving birth, the Duggars already were talking of having more.

"We'd love to have more," Michelle said, adding that the girls are outnumbered seven to 10 in the family. "We love the ruffles and lace."

Jennifer joins the fast-growing Duggar brood, who live in Tontitown in a 7,000-square-foot home. All the children — whose names start with the letter J — are home-schooled.

The oldest is 19 and the youngest, before Jennifer, is almost 2 years old.

POSTED this in Womens Health but havent received any Answers yet.

I'm 21yrs old, have been sexually active for 3 yrs (with the same partner - we live together) &today I went to get my first prescription for the Pill.

We've been using the rhythm method for three years and though I know it's not perfect, we haven't yet had any scares.

I told the Dr I wanted to go on the Pill for everything - contraceptive, pimple control + to lighten up my periods (they're normally extremely heavy & painful) and that I wanted to try Yasmin, but he prescribed me Levlen instead.

Reading up about it, I'm concerned about the number of women who have experienced a sudden rash of acne, have become moody or gone off sex, or even gone off their partners all together. Some people have even become pregnant on it.

Should I bother taking it? I have never become pregnant on the rhythm method, & I dont want to mess up my cycle for no reason.

What's your experience with the Pill or Rhythm Method?

This is what happens when we live in a society that basis its values on arcadic, agrarian society values like procreating like the world is about to end and worshipping false gods. Instead of a society base on math, science, the arts and culture (only 18% of Americans have a passport) .

What do you think?

Have you had children instead of adopting? Why is it okay to have one child when there are so many needing homes, or two or three or six?

Why is THIS family discriminated against just because they have chosen a large family? If you are so sensitive about the needs of children waiting to adopt, why not step up and do something about it rather than criticize someone else for not doing so?

I am VERY pro adoption-in fact, we will be adopting one or two children ourselves in the near future (I am currently pregnant with our third child, and we are not opposed to having more biological children either, BTW). But whether to give birth or adopt is a personal choice that each family needs to make for themselves-and NONE of us have a right to judge their decision, whatever that may be.

So...I am just wondering why YOUR circumstances are acceptable, but you think they (the Duggar family) are wrong? Quit criticing others for not doing so, and adopt yourself!

What is the largest family you personally know? I am just wondering because people look at me like I have two heads because I have 6 kids. I know families much larger than my own and I know I am not that rare.

My DD is 5yrs and DS is 2.5yrs and I really want another baby but I am worried it will change our family dynamics too much.
My daughter is at school now and son is nearly self sufficient :( so thought now is a good time to start trying again.

Did you struggle from 2 to 3 kids? Did you find yourself spread too thin at times? What age gap do you have and what would you recommend?

I don't get it.

Why do you have to "try"? Why don't you just make love with each other and if it happens, it happens, if it doesn't, it doesn't?

Why are some people so determined to give birth?

If you keep having sex and you don't end up with a baby, then so be it. You can always adopt a baby or child. As far as I know there is no shortage of orphans in the world, and never has been.

Or are these people so egotistical that they must continue "their" DNA?

I truly don't think I could carry a baby & then give it to anyone.
The bond is too strong for me.
Even though it would not be my egg or husband's sperm, I would still feel that way.

He is going out nearly 4 times a week--drinking and partying. He comes home at all hours of the night. What if I go into labor and he isn't around? Or he's drunk?
I try to confront him about it and all he does is get mad and I'm the "nagging wife" I'm sick of it.
He doesn't understand how tired I am, and how I've been feeling more and more uncomfortable. I need help with daily chores and he doesn't do anything. It's like his so called friends are more important than me and the baby. He really has no clue what awaits him once the baby gets here. He says he's just getting all of his partying out now before she gets here but that doesn't make me feel any better. I have to go back to work and she's going to stay with him. I'm not leaving my baby with a hungover dad. Worse, I want to be the stay at home parent, but I can't due to finances.
I feel like he isn't ready to become a dad. He wanted this baby so much, and yet even when I told him he didn't really seem that happy.

I'm pregnant with a boy and I am just convinced he's going to turn into a brat who just wants to play video games all day and dye his hair black and ignore me, then go on to marry some b*tch who will hate me and turn him against me forever! I come from a Christian home and am in a stable marriage, so there's no inherent dysfunction. I'm just so scared about the way the world is going and how kids can get so messed up. How can I calm myself down?

I just got married to my husband after living together for almost a year. He has a 9yr old- She lives 2 states away with her mother most the time but we see her at least every month for a week or more. During the summers it is a lot more than that. I am 6 mths pregnant so she has been coming up to us for weeks at a time.
Her dad feels guilty about not being able to spend as much time with her as he should and I know that. But when she comes it completely disrupts our lives because of that. She has no bedtime, she eats anything that she wants to and pretty much does what she wants too. I want her up with us more but I can’t help but dreading her stays. One of my biggest problems is that my husband falls asleep with her watching TV on the couch every night. I complain about it and he just says that he is trying to spend time with his daughter. I just want a normal family routine when she is here so that I don’t feel like it completely disrupts everything. But am I oversteping here?

An Arkansas couple just had the 17th child, and they talked of having another while she was giving birth.

Now, come on this sounds like mice procreating. A man cannot support 19 people at once. So who is supporting him state, donations, and others.

DO YOU FEEL YOU HAVE TO SUPPORT THIS FAMILY OR DONATE. WHY DO THEY IMPOSE THEIR CHILDREN ON SOCIETY? YOUR THOUGHTS PLEASE.
