FIRST paternity must be established. This would have to be done with a DNA test. You initiate this through the court system.

Yes, if the mother proves the right to claim child maintenance from an absent father by means of a court initiated paternity test, then the father will also be entitled to request access etc. However, this will be up to the courts to decide in the interests of the child. They may decide that it would not be in the interests of the child to know who the father was.

Contact your CSRU (child support recovery unit) they will have you fill out a paternity affidavit alleging that he is the father. If he agrees and signs it, they will then get a financial statement from you both and set an amount based on that. And once it's set they will start a garnishment with his job. If he denys paternity they will order a DNA test and set an amount after the results are back.

I was in the same situation, just phone child support agency 08456-090052 they will send you out a claim form, fill it in the best you can, giving all his details, and they will contact him, he could say child/baby isn't his but then they will send him to do a paternity test, they will back date to claim till the day they first had contact with him, I must say the child support agency aren't very good, so you will have to chase them up, but they got there in the end with me, so hopefully you should be okay. its makes no difference if he isn't on birth certificate. Good luck
P.S with regards to access to the child/baby that's to do with the courts not the child support agency, weather he pays or not he can still take you to court for access, but it takes around 3-4 years to get sorted out, if he is a good farther I would give him access anyway, my little boy doesn't see his farther, not because of me his dad doesn't want to see him, but children need both parents, even if you don't like him very much, that's not your child's fault.

paternity tests
court order
then repeat orders and lots of hassle to actually get him to obey the order
all of this for maybe £200 a month?
and it would take you about 2 years and hundreds of hours to get this sorted
as well as the travel expenses etc
and the cost for a specialist lawyer to handle the whole process

may as well spend the time and money on an educational venture to up your income by more than £200 a month which would benefit both you and the child mentally and financially

if you dont want to do that... then go on trisha or something. will save you £149 for a paternity test and much more money for court costs and wasted hours

in answer to your original question, contact your citizens advice bureau. they will guide you throug hthe whole process step by step

you can get a child maintence form from CSA, get it sent to you i think you have to ring up job centre or income suport, he will still have to pay benefit even if he is not on the birth certificate, if he claims not to be the father, he will have to have a DNA test and go to court by law, and if it turns out he is the father he will be forced to pay for court and the DNA test himself by law. i went through all this a few years ago

You get a criminal professional and record for a paternity dna try. If shown the father you record a lawsuit to have the start certificates amended. You record for custody. try the criminal section...this section is family contributors tree, we study ancestors and family contributors trees.

you can still take him to court. if he denies that the child is his get blood test done too prove the child is his, then he will have to pay child support. they can garnish his wages at were he works or him pay directly. there is a place where he may have to go to make the payment, the they send you a check for the amount that the court ordered him to pay.
i can't remember where the place is that he may have to go to.
