What is the largest family you personally know? I am just wondering because people look at me like I have two heads because I have 6 kids. I know families much larger than my own and I know I am not that rare.

My 3 daughters (ages 14, 10, and 7) are all friends with kids in a family of 9 kids and they are expecting twins any day now. So that will make 11 kids.

I get that same look you do and I only have 4 children and 1 on the way :)

My father was the youngest of 13 children. I myself am the oldest of 6. I have 3 children and am planning my fourth. I think that when people look at me that way they really don't have sense of what family means. My dad always told me that there is strength in numbers and the more family you have the more you have in life. I firmly beleive this.

my mom's family had 5 kids in it. 6 isn't really alot my girlfriend watches these reality shows about John and Kate plus 8, and there is another one where they had so many kids that their "family sedan" is a remodeled school bus.. just going to the grocery store "costco" as a family they load up the bus. I think there was like 13 kids in this family.

My grandmother had 20 children, with 18 surviving till adulthood. All but on of those eighteen married, and 16 of those had children. For my grandmother's 90th birthday they had to rent a hall because when we all get together there are 142 of us lol. That's not counting cousins, nieces and nephews, from her family.

In a more recent time frame, my BIL has 6 as well.

My grandma is 1 of 11. I grew up with a lady who has 7.

I dont think you're odd at all. if i had it my way i'd have like 40 kids. Big families are the essence of life.
