How much does a vasectomy cost , do some insurance companies help cover it and about how long would it take for my husband to recover? He works in the oil field, so does alot of physical stuff. How long would he have to be off from the job? We are going to start looking into it soon, but I thought Id ask here first just to get an idea.. Thanks.

I asked this in the Mens health category, but they werent much help : Just telling me things like it will cost alot for him, but nothing to me, etc..lol. So anyways, We have 3 boys and a girl on the way in March. He has volunteered for the vasectomy, since I have had to go through childbirth. Anyways, Im just curious if anyone else's husband has done it and how did it go? I will do my own research on the subject later when it gets closer to the time to do it.

Hello, I'm 51/2 months pregnant and I'm not sure whether I should name my daughter Katie or Kate. I like Katie because it's so cute, fresh, fun etc. I like Kate because it's sweet, classic, and simple. Then again Katie can seem way to young and cutesie for when she's older. Sometimes I don't like Kate because it's just to short and a bit plain. Also I really don't want to name my baby Katherine, Kathleen, Katelyn, Katlin, and so on. Just Katie or Kate! My question is which name would all of you pick and why? Anyhow thank you so much for those who answers!

I have a young friend I am trying to help out. I am making her car payments to make sure they get paid on time since I co-signed(never again) then she pays me. $180.00 per month. She is struggling for money as she just had a baby. I want to help help because she has been a life long friend but I am not giving handouts, I want her to learn and earn her way especially now that she has her baby. I have seen much improvement in her arttitude and actions lately. I believe strongly in "I will gladly help you if I see you helping yourself"!!
I have offered to let her work some of the car payment down (not all) by doing some house cleaning for me.

My question is how much should the cleaning be worth in this case? Should she earn by hour or task? I don't want to end up paying 2 hours for a clean bath tub. I want to sit down with her and work out a clean clear cut earning schedule that we are both happy with so that we are in any misunderstandings.

We are in the midwest. Any ideas?

With children starving all over the world and even in developed nations, why are you so excited to bring another potential welfare case into the world?
But, if you really want to solve the problem, just get all that Catholic money together to do something useful for a change besides encouraging unprotected sex. Hand out cash rewards for gals who don't abort their babies.
If what you really want to do is stop abortions, put your money where your mouth is and make it worth while to carry these pregnancies to term and give the children up for adoption. This way you can solve problems instead of just making them up!

Inherit means they must get these traits from their parents, so please try not to be idealistic in what you are, be realistic in what good traits of your own you would like to see your children inherit.

I had a C-Section a few months ago. My doctor said my son wouldn't drop. But I was 8 centimeters dialated. After I gave birth, my boyfriend told me that my doctor told him that I had "the pelvic bone of a man"
My questions are:
1) Has anyone on here ever exprienced giving birth by C-Section because of the baby not dropping?
2) Is it possible that the doctor really did say I had the pelvis of a man? If so, what would that mean?

thanks!-----------------(please dont make rude comments)

I'm curious about this because I watched a special recently that had some statistics saying that a lot of conceptions make it to the embryo stage but still don't survive. I found this very sad, and was just wondering how large an embryo actually got before it was designated a fetus around 2 months. In inches or cm would be good.

I mean physically, after you are completely healed - of course things slow down for a while after having a kid. My own experience is that it's considerably better, but I wonder what others' experiences are.
Please include what kind of birth you had (natural, hospital [induced or with anesthesia], or C section)

Firstly, I'm not too sure how my baby is going to look. I have a few mixed race asian/caucasian friends and they all look fairly asian - although I do know a little boy who is cambo/aussie and turned out white with blonde hair/blue eyes, but he has asian style shaped nose & eyes. Is it more likely that my baby will turn out asian looking?? (I'm Australian and the father is Chinese/Vietnamese.)

Also, can anyone suggest some names? I've looked at so many baby books and I just can't decide....I think I'd like to give my baby a mixed name ie. one english name and one viet name - not too sure on the order though.

Thanks everyone! :o)

I am a mom-2-be & no longer with the father-2-be. I plan on moving back home which will be in a different state than where the father lives. I want to have complete custody of my baby but allow the father to have visiting rights. I strongly believe that if the mother is stable than the child should not be taken away from the mother for too long up until the child reaches a certain age. Am I wrong for feeling this way? Please no harsh comments. Please be mature with your answers. Thank you.
