Nope. I had my baby shower at about six months. By then you should know the sex of the baby (if you want to know) And can spread the word to those you invite. Therefore you can recieve gender based gifts at the baby shower. I think six months is just fine. By then you have a tummy to prove your pregnancy so why not. The only downfall, getting all those baby gifts at your shower will make you more anxious to have to baby so you can use all the new stuff. Pregnancy is so much fun!!

No. By this time, you're in your last trimester and probably know what the baby is. Now would be a good time to have one before you get too worn out in the last month or so. Plus, after the shower, you can take a look at what you got and what you still need, and you will have plenty of time to make exchanges and additional purchases. You'll want to rest as much as you can and have everything ready about a month ahead of time anyway. I myself am going to have an early shower since there's a good chance my baby will be early (she's getting pretty big).

You should do it when you feel like it! It's your baby, and your time to celebrate.
With my last baby (the third) the baby shower was set for a month before my due date and I had the baby the day before the shower, a month early.
Better to be early than late!

I would do it a bit later if there's not a real reason to do it at six months, but for example if your friends or family are going to be in town for the holidays or something it seems like a fine time. But if everyone you're inviting is around then I'd wait until about 7 1/2 months. I was 37 weeks at mine- I don't recommend that. By that point I was on bed rest so I had to lie down the whole time.

You can have it whenever you want to. I wish I had mine at 6 months. I ended up having my son at 29 weeks (7 months 1 week). My baby showers were held while he was still in the hospital and I didn't like having to leave him alone

NO I had my baby shower early and really enjoyed it, I was not yet huge and could get up and move around to thank everyone. It is also alot easier to return all the duplicates when your belly is not bulging. And if you are registering for nursery things it will aloow you time to do the nursery before baby arrives.

no it is not to early you never know the baby might come sooner that her due date or later due dates are never accurate and complications always exist that way mom and dad know what the should buy or will need after the baby shower

noooo! its a great time to have a baby shower. dont listen to anything anyone says about "oh its too early" or anything. people told me it wouldnt be right for me to have my own, but... its for the baby not the mom so the mom should have the right to be in charge.. that means... 6 months is not too early.. lol :D
good luck ;)

No. do it when you think it will be best. I wish i could have had mine earlier than i did. (two weeks before i was due.) I was nervous about whether i would even make it to my own shower(or have to leave straight from there to the hospital.
