I had a C-Section a few months ago. My doctor said my son wouldn't drop. But I was 8 centimeters dialated. After I gave birth, my boyfriend told me that my doctor told him that I had "the pelvic bone of a man"
My questions are:
1) Has anyone on here ever exprienced giving birth by C-Section because of the baby not dropping?
2) Is it possible that the doctor really did say I had the pelvis of a man? If so, what would that mean?

thanks!-----------------(please dont make rude comments)

I had a c-section in February. My son wouldn't drop, but I was dialated 1 cm and effaced 70%. We scheduled an induction for 10 days overdue, and when I got to the hospital they did an ultrasound that showed my son was frank breech and face up, low amniotic fluid, something I'd been saying for weeks. Had a c-section the next mornign.

As for the second thing, he may have said that to your boyfriend as a way to better explain things to him. Guys need visuals. He probably meant that you have a narrow pelvis. Women normally have a wider hip area, that gives us that longed-for hourglass shape, and guys are more... rectangular. Women's hips are perfectly suited to birthing a baby, but sometimes, due largely to genetics, a woman's pelvic bone is just too narrow to pass a baby through without terrible difficulty.

Congratulations on your baby!

I too had a C-section, about 2 1/2 years ago, with my son. My son did drop, however, I wasn't dialating properly, and my OBGYN made a comment that my pelvis wasn't reacting properly.
I think your OBGYN, though he found an incredibly rude and insensitive way of saying it, meant that perhaps your pelvic bones were not rounded the way most women's are, or maybe that your pelvis didn't loosen and come apart a bit, like most women's do when they're about to give birth. Hope that helps

When I went into labor with my son, he hadn't dropped and he was still fairly high up, so I can't imagine why they would give you a c-section, as for your second question, I don't know the difference between a man's and a woman's pelvis or if their even is a difference but the doctor who said that was obviously rude and out of line for saying that. (don't take it to heart my hormones were so screwed up when I was pregnant my doctor told I must have had the lowest estrogen count in a women ever, Trust me so not true)

I can't speak for your doctor, but if he said that he probably just meant that your pelvis was thinner than that of a woman. Women's pelvis' spread when they're giving birth, and maybe yours didn't.

I have had had two csections and one natural birth. The first was caused because the baby was sunny side up and wouldn't turn. They could actually see her head when they had to do the emergency section.

The second one, I was 4 centimetes dialted when I went in and quickly dialated to where they had to move up the surgery.

So, whatever the reason, I'm sure they did it because it was necessary, and between me and you, I would have a csection anyday over a natural birth!!!

I have no children but I am pre-med and I think I can help with your 2nd question.

The bone structure of men and women are same in the sense that we all have the same bones. Men however have slightly thicker bones than women do. By him stating that you have the pelvis of a man, I think what he was trying to say is that you have a thicker pelvis bone than most women. I do not think the doctor meant to insult you in anyway.

You can do 2 residencies in case you desire to, but it surely rather is not indispensable. You can grow to be a fertility expert through both direction, relying in case you choose to attention at the male or feminine part of the equation. Get your self into med institution first. You could uncover that you just get worn out of watching at (insert frame facet right here) all day and prefer some thing entirely specific. There could also be reproductive endocrinology to remember. That is up to now down the street for you that it is not valued at disturbing approximately now. Good good fortune with med institution.

My sister had her 1st child at 15... the doctor I guess didn't read her chart because he made the comment to me and our mom "she didn't have the pelvic bone of a 18 year old" Rather rudely... My mom Just said "that not a surprise because she 15..."
Next thing we knew he was rushing her in for c-section..
So It wouldn't surprise me in lest..

I had 2-section 1st fetal distress They keep waiting for Baby to drop tell he and i was both worn out...18hours after water broke then his heart beat slowed and stoped for short periods of time. My doctor came in room and look at my chart and said it was just me moving causing it... After he left my mother in law went out to oldest person looking like a doctor she could fine and told him something wrong...The older Dr took one look at the monitor and called code blue next thing i knew people were every where.. After I woke up 5 hours later I was told he was in danger and they had to do emergence-section.. He fine 22yrs old now

2nd was planed didn't want to take the chance of that happening again

just be glad no matter how rude he may have been that he did the c-section before it was major risk to you or your baby
