It depends on the doctor and when in the process you want them there. When I had my daughter I was allowed 4 people before things got crazy and 4 people after I delivered. During the thick of it though I was only allowed two people. I went in around 6 am and by 6:30 had an epidural....went back to sleep after that and when I woke up my sister and dad had gotten there (My mom and hubby had been there from the beginning). Hung out for a bit having contractions that didn't hurt so bad and dilated and all...and then the big ones hit and everyone cleared out except Mom and Hubby. I had some complication after my daughter was born so they didn't let anyone else in until about 3 hours after I'd actually delivered. If you give permission I think the age doesn't matter. I've heard of people having their children there in order to make them feel included. Ask your doctor.

Talk to your caregiver. Some doctors only allow 2 and some allow a crowd. Just depends. My sister had 7 people in their with her. Age does not usually matter. They will allow a little child as long as they are able to handle it.

It probably depends on the hospital, check with them to find out how many are allowed in. I would think the age of 16 is good.

IMO, it's anyone the mom wants in the room. Generally speaking, the hospital tries to limit it to 1 or 2 people. Discuss beforehand with your caregive and have them write in your paperwork that you will have certain people in the room with you. It's your birth and you're paying the hospital to facilitate it, so you should be allowed to get things done your way!

well its your choice but while your actually in labour the doctors try ad cut it down to like the father of the new born and the mother of the 'conciever'. but im pretty sure any one you want in there can be in there after you have given birth and in stable condition even your delivery boy if hes that close 2 you

I live in Florida and I was aloud 3 people...age didnt matter, i guess they just needed to be mature enough to handle the situation.

as many as the new mother will allow - unless they are annoying the doctors, nurses, etc. - our 5 yr old was allowed in the delivery room when we had our daughter
