I do mean after you go into labor. I know some people that delivered in about 2 hours, but some stay in labor forever. Just curious though....

OK, DH and I grew up very differently with regard to Christmas. Mine was almost obscene in the amount and cost of gifts I received - my parents spent far too much, and then I received gifts from other family members. He received one Santa gift, one gift from his mom and dad and then whatever any other family members got him.

I absolutely do NOT want my children to have the same Christmases I grew up with. I recognize them as being indulgent and probably in some sense an attempt to make up for other things that were lacking in the parent-child relationship.

However, DH wants to give our kids one gift from us and one gift from Santa and then whatever other family members get them. I don't want to do that either.

I think there's a happy medium. We have adopted the one-gift from Santa rule, but I don't think it's bad to have 4-6 gifts from Mom and Dad plus a stocking for the kids, do you? I'm not talking extravagant gifts.

What do you think? How does your family do it?

My wife is due in March and we find out the gender the 27th of this month. We've been discussing different names for each sex and can't really find any we really like. So far, for a boy, we like Pierson (my middle name), Tanner (My mom's side of the family last name), Jackson, Ryker, and my favorite, Espen or Espin (aka espn). Any suggestions are appreciated and personally, I just like cool, original names, nothing common like Adam, my name. Thanks!

My husband is 100% Italian and I have a mother-in-law who recently told me ... and I QUOTE ... "If I lived with you, it still wouldn't be enough time for me. I need more time with you".

We live 40 minutes away and see his family every weekend. We have a large group of friends and we have to cancel/bow-out of other events because we are always with his family.

We have a 1 year old and I am nervous about having more children because I don't want the issues of "time together" to escalate. I want a large family but this is holding me back.

My husband travels every week for 2 or 3 days and I don't think that limiting the amount of time we spend with his family (say to 2 weekends or 3 short visits a month) is too much to ask.

My in-laws are very sweet but are also "chameleons" when it comes to getting their way. I don't want to hurt anyone but I can't allow the time constraints to continue in fear that the issues will only get worse.

I need some solid advice please!

My husband and I havebeen together for 3 and a half years, we've lived together for 2 years and we got married a month ago.
I'm 21 and he's 26. I'm ready for a baby and he still isn't. I've asked him when he'll be ready and he said in due time. The only definate answer I got out of him was that maybe in a year or two. We've talked about it and he definatley wants children, 3 of them to be exact, I just don't want to wait for another year or two. There is no reason for us not to, financilly. We own a four bedroom home, and are in a good situation as far as having bills paid off. The only thing that might set us back a little is the fact that I need to get a new vehicle within the next couple months, but that really won't make that much of a difference.
Am I just being impatient or is he just being difficult? Any suggestions (serious ones) will be greatly appreciated.

THE BABY IS NOT HERE YET AND I'M ALREADY HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE BIOLOGICAL MOTHER. SHE IS RUDE AND HAS MISSED SEVERAL APPOINTMENTS WITH ME. HER WHOLE FAMILY AND THE BIOLOGICAL FATHERS FAMILY ALL LIVE IN THE SAME VERY SMALL TOWN AS I DO. THE BIOLOGICAL FATHER IS IN PRISON FOR A VIOLENT CRIME. AFTER HIS TIME IS SERVED HE TOO WILL BE IN THE SAME TOWN. I'M HAVING SECOND THOUGHTS. I HAVE ONE CHILD, BUT I ALMOST DIED GIVING BIRTH TO HIM SO MY HUSBAND HAD A VASECTOMY. I LOVE MY CHILD MORE THAN ANYTHING AND I DON'T WANT TO RISK HIS SAFETY. MY HUSBAND THINKS WE WILL HAVE A LOT OF PROBLEMS IN THE FUTURE. THE BIOLOGICAL MOTHER IS ROUGH TO SAY THE LEAST. I'M VERY TORN. I WANT TO GIVE THIS CHILD A HOME BUT I'M NOT SURE I'M MAKING THE BEST CHOICE. I HAVE A LAWYER SO EVERY THING WOULD BE LEGALLY DONE, BUT WHAT IF??????

I'm 19 I don't work and I'm pregnant going to an exspensive college. I have 2.5 years to be done with my BA . I'm pregnant and my family wants me to abort it but I can't. I prefer to have it and give the baby away than to kill . I'm almost 5 weeks 3 days I'm soo scared. I feel like a bad person because I don't want to abort and I never believe it that. The guy said is all up to me and I do really want to have it but I'm scared all the presure I will be getting from family would make me abort and then later on in life go crazy or they might put to much presure on me that miscarrae might occer. I prayed to God to let me have this kid. Please I'm lost what should I do?

she told me everything....she told him to have sex with her. She 's not really the most decent person, but she is my friend. She only wants to marry him so they can have more sex. I don't think they are going to get married though, thats what she said. But she only likes this guy because of the things he does to her. She has sex when her parents aren't around, and she said I should try it. I tell her no! It's not right to have sex at this age, and I think I'm going to tell her parents......but then she'll hate me D: I'm so confused

I asked this question earlier and Im suprised by some of the answers. Divorce or child...? what I never said I was going to leave my husband if he didnt want another baby and another assumed that I was the homemaker and that I couldnt handle 3 kids by myself... Im the breadmaker honey, I work at a hospital 3rd shift and then come home to take care of the kids all day... I get 4 hours of sleep when my husband comes home from work and then I do it all over again and I wouldnt change it for the world. I just feel that my time is running out and I want another child, and some of you are saying that I need to respect HIS decision... what about MINE? Give me your imput, and if you want to read my other question, make sure you read some of the answers I got too.
