THE BABY IS NOT HERE YET AND I'M ALREADY HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE BIOLOGICAL MOTHER. SHE IS RUDE AND HAS MISSED SEVERAL APPOINTMENTS WITH ME. HER WHOLE FAMILY AND THE BIOLOGICAL FATHERS FAMILY ALL LIVE IN THE SAME VERY SMALL TOWN AS I DO. THE BIOLOGICAL FATHER IS IN PRISON FOR A VIOLENT CRIME. AFTER HIS TIME IS SERVED HE TOO WILL BE IN THE SAME TOWN. I'M HAVING SECOND THOUGHTS. I HAVE ONE CHILD, BUT I ALMOST DIED GIVING BIRTH TO HIM SO MY HUSBAND HAD A VASECTOMY. I LOVE MY CHILD MORE THAN ANYTHING AND I DON'T WANT TO RISK HIS SAFETY. MY HUSBAND THINKS WE WILL HAVE A LOT OF PROBLEMS IN THE FUTURE. THE BIOLOGICAL MOTHER IS ROUGH TO SAY THE LEAST. I'M VERY TORN. I WANT TO GIVE THIS CHILD A HOME BUT I'M NOT SURE I'M MAKING THE BEST CHOICE. I HAVE A LAWYER SO EVERY THING WOULD BE LEGALLY DONE, BUT WHAT IF??????

IF you did, you should move FAR away from there SOON. However, I wouldn't recommend it. It sounds like there are some really bad genes in that group!

The end of the day this question is your decision but my personally opinion is to carry on with the adoption as you obviously want to give this baby the start and love it deserves in life, but move far away from the biological family.

you need to do whats best for your family and the baby. adoption is a very messy and hard thing on its own without the family giving you grief

What a heartbreaking decision to make. On the one hand, you offer a better home, on the other hand you may be opening your home and life to a, to say the least unruly clan. I'm not sure what I would do, but I will say that my existing family's safety has got to be considered. Knowing small towns, this will not be a secret. I will pray for all of you, and good luck!

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO........ travel about 5 states away and do it there.

Unless you're willing to move, now, about 5 states away and come back to pick the baby up when it's born. The old saying that kicks in on this is "Familiarity breeds contempt." She has no respect for your position now, it'll be a nightmare when the baby comes. Actually, I seriously doubt you'd ever get the baby.

If it's what your heart wants then go for it. If the biological mother is so terrible (as you make her sound) then can you imagine how terrible of a mother she'd be? I think it'd be best for that baby if you would adopt him.

Yes, don't let the child suffer because the family sucks.
