He says, he used to masterbate everyday in his childhood that too for years. He is scared that his sperm count would be less. Will masterbation effect the sperm count to be less. if not, any idea what should be the count to make a baby?

So what do you use to make a baby???!! little flour, sugar & stupidity??? no masterbation does not cause low sperm count..... besides, what guy hasn't masterbated..... even excessively during childhood!!!

Well dear, stop worrying. Having choked his chicken will have no bearing on his ability to produce good quality sperm. Drinking alcohol, smoking and bad diet however will.
For a normal man, it only takes two days for the sperm to regenerate and if you are trying for a baby - every 2 days up to your ovulation date is about right - if you leave it for more than a week, to store up the sperm, this has a counter effect as the body produces anti-bodies which reduces the quality/mobility of the sperm
As to content - there should be about 20 million sperm per ejaculate. But babies have been made by post-vasectomy men who have far less (4 million)

Try and make each other relaxed when making a baby, this will help your husband from being scared.
masturbating will only effect his sperm count if he is doing it while you are trying for a baby, years ago won't effect you now but you can always check his sperm count at the doctors if you are really worried.

I don't see how that could affect you're possibilties of getting pregnant, but I had a doctor tell me (7 years ago)and my husband when we first started trying to get pregnant that having sex everyday during ovulation would reduce chances. It's better to have sex, then skip a few days before doing it again because it gives his sperm chance to rebuild. It really makes sense if you think about it. Someone told me to have sex early in the AM. So I figured out when ovulation started and we did it @ 4:30 in the morning when he got up for work. That's where it began for us!!!!

if he is concerned about his sperm count ~ you can go to the dr. and have him tested, but i dont think masterbation should have any effect on his sperm count..anyway it doesnt hurt going to the dr.

sperm regenerate all the time, the best chances of pg are achieved by having sex every other day around the time of your ovulation (day 11 to 19 ) of your cycle

Doing that when he was a kid will do NOTHING to affect his sperm count.
Doing that when he is trying to get you pregnant could, but not in any horrible way.

and as for the others, i agree with them, it wont make his sperm count lower just because he masturbated when he was younger.
