Others have offered but she wants to have it at her home due to the location. Her home is midway for both families to travel 1 1/2 hr in each direction. She want both families at the same shower. The families do not know each other.

people today should not be uptight about these things. I think it is a good idea, the presents would not have to be hauled to her home which will save mom-to-be lots of energy.

I think this is a great idea, if the mother-to-be has space and if she is able to cope with the demands of cleaning and stuff; or if her friends who are hosting the shower are going to make sure that she isn't left cleaning before & after all alone (especially since most showers take place when the mother-to-be is 7 months or more along!).

Yes it is. Mine was at my mom's when we lived together & a neighbor co-hosted. Our house was midway for several guests too so it worked. I've been to other showers where it's at the mom to be's & everything works out great. It's a great chance for her to show off the baby's room too.

It's absolutely OK! It's her party, she can do whatever she wants. :) It's also totally considerate for her family, which makes it even more acceptable.
