Well I am ready to have the baby now, and I think I will go into labor sometime tonight or within this week. However, I have become really scared. I am new to all of this and so I dont know what to expect. We were ready for a baby and ttc and I am excited for him to be here but it seems that now that everything is happening and I am about to go into labor I am getting really scared. Is this normal? Is there anything I should know to expect that might help me out? I mean I know tons of women do it everyday and I know that I can do it..its just scary to me i guess.

ok so i have been trying to get pregnant for the last 2 years since my mc and have had no luck...till maybe now.. i haven't had a full period since the week of june 3-7 and in july all i did was spot once in the morning for 2 days.; since then i haven't bled or anything... for me normal signs of pregnancy don't apply as i experience them when i'm about to start... however i have never been so hungry all the time like i am now and on top of that i can only get like 5 hours of sleep before i wake up wanting food. is this a possiblity? could i finally have my dream come true? if you don't have a serious answer then please don't respond
thanks to all who help

I went to the doc. the other day and was told that I was soft, up close and thinning out, but no dilation yet. He said that I am ready to go all I need to do is dilate and get started. Well I have been walking and have been having sex and cleaning..lol. I have contractions everyday about 30 min apart and not that bad either. However, today I have felt like I have more discharge, no blood or anything bu it is wetting my underware and my walls to my vagina feel really sore and lots of pressure. Im still having the contractions about 30 min. apart and nothing that bad but I cant hardly walk because its so sore down there. He is already in position and his head is already down there so I know that dilation is all thats left. Does this sound like I am dilating to you? Does it sound like it will be much longer? I have an appointment tomorrow but I was just wondering till then if anyone felt like this before they went into labor. Thanks for all your help!

I have 2 kids, my youngest is 13 months...

With my first child, I admit I was sad.
I was sad because nobody told me your body does a 180, and that it looks TOTALLY different (for most women) after you have kids. (stretchmarks, droopy skin, ect.)
I was sad because I excusively breastfed (no formula or bottles of expressed milk) and would have to go 3 or 4 nights in a row without so much as a 20 minute catnap. (my hubby worked OTR)
I was sad because family wasn't available to help ect...
Then when I finished breastfeeding I was sad because everyone who praised breastfeeding failed to tell me my breasts would be reduced to drooping flaps of skin, once I weaned.

BUT I WAS NEVER DEPRESSED, I never felt disconnected from my own children, I never felt angry, and I just don't see how anyone could.

Do you think post partum depression is REAL, or do you think it is just ungrateful, selfish women feeling sorry for themselves and making excuses?

I've been having a very hard time dealing with post partum depression for a long time now - my daughter is almost 8 mos old. I just can't shake this feeling of having no self worth. There are days when I honestly hate myself - I hate looking at myself in the mirror, hate hearing myself speak...I just hate everything about myself.

I have never been this type of person. I've always been very happy & confident. But after I gave birth I just turned into this sad, insecure person who is always down. I've alienatied myself from all my friends cause I'm convinced they don't want to be around me anymore, even though they always call.

My marriage is suffering too. But I just don't know how to get over this. The only source of joy I have in my life is my little girl. She is the sweetest, most wonderful baby and is such a blessing.

I thought of couselling but I can't afford it. I know there's public health, but I'm afraid. What if they think I'm wacko and try to take my baby?

I just keep thinking about getting married and having kids. My fiance and I have decided to pay our credit cards and excess bills off in the next year and get married, then have kids within a year after getting married or else when our bills are paid off. I'm 23 and he's 24 and we've been together for six years. I just want to get married and have kids now and I can't stop thinking about it!!! I'm to the point where I get depressed when I go to picnics and everyone has their kids there. I just want to have a baby now!!!

Recently, I thought I was pregnant. My mother & I are very close so I told her that I might be pregnant. She was so happy! She started jumping up & down & crying! I was so shocked at her reaction (because I am a single mother). When my period came on she was devastated! My problem is I am 33 years old & I I dont know if I want to start over raising kids.I was even more shocked that I was kind of happy about maybe being pregnant, I was ready to deal with it even if I was scared of starting over.I am not married but me & my daughters father are now planning to get married & get or future in order. My sister has an alternative lifestyle so she is not having any kids.My mother says that I am her only hope for more grand babies! I feel like the world is on my shoulders, I never new she felt this way. My fiance' wants more kids 2 & he is 38. I welcome all advice. Anyone start over having kids when their kids are teens? Would you reccommend it? I'll be 34 soon, my clock is ticken (lol). HELP

My grand mom used to tell this all the time when I was growing up, “Be the bigger person and walk away”. You know how kids can be when they think you’re scared. They will bully you to death. So I stopped going to her for advice after I got tired of getting bullied and to my mother, who was a live wire. She used to say “Do what you gotta do and I’ll handle the teachers when they call”. My Grand mom used to get so mad at her but Mom used to say “Everybody has a breaking point. He reached his”. Needless to say, I followed my mothers advice through out my school years.

I’ve heard some parents tell their children not to ever fight………AT ALL!!!! They say “If somebody hits you, just tell the closet adult and walk away. Fighting never solves anything”. Nobody agrees with the statement “Fighting never solves anything” more than I do, especially in this day and age when people don’t fight anymore. They’ll shoot you for looking at them wrong. But I do believe that there comes a time when you must stand up for yourself, especially if a bully has been tormenting you for the longest. Now, I’m childless but if I ever do have kids, I plan to teach them to stand up for themselves. What do you think? Should children fight if they need to?

No rude comments, just serious answers.

Who cares if they popped out a big baby ....any one can do that
Why do people have to change in a self centered way after they have a kid
Why not change for the better

Let me start by saying that Rogue is somewhat of a coward, IMV. He asked a question about wanting unselfish reasons for having children. I answered the question, and then added that IMO having selfish motives didn't always mean that something was bad. I was very pleasant to him and even prefaced it with, "I'm not trying to bait or inflame you, I'm serious about this question." Which was something like, "why is it always assumed that a selfish thing is a bad thing." I then went on to add that having children actually required comple

He added to his question a really condescending version of, "that's not the point." So, I added back into my answer that he had conveniently ignored my point that parenting was actually the antithesis of "selfish." He then removed his question apparently.

So he emailed me: Message: You're pretty snotty. How old are you, maybe sixteen? And you have kids? I feel sorry for them.

Now stop playing on the computer and go pay attention to your brats.

I am planning to have a homebirth, with a midwife and my sister attending. I am due in 40 days. Any good advice from anyone who has been there? I have everything on the supply list the midwife gave me, but would like advice from someone who has actually experienced this. Anything that helped you, or you would have done differently, etc. Thank you!

me and my husband have been trying for a baby for a year.
I have miscarried twice and had an etopic pregancy.
The docs say i am perfectly healthy and everything is working perfectly with me.
My husband thinks it may be his sperm.

We have tried when i am ovulating , we have tried herbal remedies but now its been 6 months since my last miscarriage and nothing at all is happening.

Does any one have any advice , we have so much love to give and cant wait to be parents. The docs wont do anything untill we been trying for 2 years.

Me and my friend are in 34 DD (technically 34 E, but thats a size that doesnt exist) she's nursing and iam pregnant.

WE CANNOT FIND BRAS in thsoe sizes or in any size that come even close to fitting.

Dont say try online, we have, even ebay, there isnt anything, let alone a nursing bra.

Has anyone solved this riddle during their own pregnancy/nursing time?
