I have a close friend who is just being a father recently. But he is very unsure if the baby is his. They got married cuz of the baby. Also at that time his wife was seeing other man. His wife never really provides good answer for that. In other words, she maybe not sure herself. I believe that checking blood type is the normal way, but what if the other guy has the same blood type as the father. Then, it might be useless by checking blood type. checking DNA is out of question cuz it's way too expensive for them. Is it other way? They really dunno what is the other guy blood type. He has gone nowhere to be found. Thanks for giving help.

I need to know, who here feels that people take this site too seriously/personally? (i.e. you answer their question and they retaliate if they don't like your answer) OR if people don't take this questions/answer place serious enough (i.e. people are hurting more than helping.) Discuss... explain..... :-) Be as brutal as you'd like.

We have to pass a test to drive a car. Statistically, more societal damage is caused by bad parenting than bad driving. When are we going to give children the priority that they deserve, and require parenting licenses for people to leave a hospital with a baby? Why not just a simple requirement of a violent-criminal-history clearance and a parenting class completion, and more requirements (home visits, facilitators) as "risk factors" incresase? Insurance companies rate us on statistics and risk factors. Why can't we rate parents on the same, and require that the riskier ones have more stringent requirements to meet? Children are not pets or property. It should not be considered anyone's "right" to care for a child. Adoptions and foster parenting impose MAJOR requirements, so why not natural parenting?

I am not pregnant but I was wondering about this. What if I were to get pregnant while taking the pill but didn't know that I was indeed pregnant until the next month when my period didn't come. But I had been taking the pill for a month already. Will taking the pill each day hurt the baby? Thanks! :)

I asked this question last night and thought I’d see what people would say during the day.

If you had a daughter--let’s say she is sixteen--and you found out she was pregnant, would abortion or adoption be an option? Would you allow her to make the decision or would you decide for her? Would you keep or take custody of the child? Remember you are the grandparent. This child would be linked to you, too. Would you really want family being adopted or aborted?

Like, do you think that corporal punishment is wrong? Why or why not? How much should kids decide about their nutrition? Etc.

A friend of mine is pregnant, and she's keeping it, mostly because her best friend is a dumb idiot (i wish i could write what i really thought of her).

The other day i was trying to coax her out of having the child, but as she's already had an abortion she's scared she'll never have children again if she has a 2nd abortion. Her dumb best friend said that each time you have an abortion your chances of getting pregnant again go down by 25%, so if she had 2, she would only have 50% chance of getting pregnant again.
I personally think this is all lies, and have read a lot of things about abortion, but where could she have got this information from? She said she read it on the internet, but someone pleeeease help, i'm gonna show her all the answers too, just to help back me up!

His mum died not long ago, and she always said that she wanted a granddaughter...

If it's a girl, we've decided to name her after his mum, BUT...

What if I have a boy? I'm really worried that I'll disappoint him, and I'm worried that he won't love our baby as much if it's a boy.

I just want a happy, healthy child, but he is really set on a girl.

I've tried talking to him about it, I'll say "Honey, it might be a boy" and he just replies "No, it's going to be a little girl"...

I don't know what o do to stop his disappointmet! Help!

....Or something....

I have had really bad nausea, insomnia and back ache for the last month or so because of my pregnancy, but my boyfriend seems to be jealous of my symptoms...

If I say "I'm really tired, I hardly slept last night", he'll say "Me neither, I feel terrible"

Or "My back ache is playing up today, so I'm going to sit down for a bit" - he'll say "My back is so bad I don't think I should sit down, I might not be able to get up"

And so on, that sort of thing...

I don't understand it, it's like he's trying to beat me at not feeling good! All I want is just a hug, but I seem to be getting this odd reaction all the time - sometimes I just want to scream at him "I'm the one who's pregnant not you!!!"

He also knows how tired I am but he keeps commenting if I haven't done the dusting, or bleached the loo etc...

Is he angry with me for being pregnant?? We both wanted this, and we'd been trying for months!!

Help!!??

OHSU -a single women went in to receive donated sperm to conceive a child. That same day an engaged couple went in so the soon-to-be-husband could give sperm to artificially inseminate his finance b/c they were having trouble conceiving.

Instead of giving the single women the donated sperm that she came in for, she received the sperm of the soon to be husband.
OHSU contacted the single women and the couple to inform them of the mistake.

Now the women has had the baby and the couple wants paternity tests done to prove that the sperm was from the couple and not the donated sperm from the clinic.

The intention of the couple is to fight for custody of the baby, even though the baby is the single women's. The women refuses to allow her medical records viewed or dna tests done on the baby, because she does not believe the couple has a right to test the child.

Do you think the couple has any rights to the child? Should the medical records be opened?
