For starters, hopefully you weren't using breastfeeding as your "form of birth control" Becasue that does not work, it never has, and never will. Plus once you give birth, and once your body is ready to go back to normal, it will. The only thing that could control that would be actual birth control. And all that would do is either make you have or not have your period.
As for being pregnant, well the only way to find out that is to take a test.

How late are you? Do you think your son may have nursed more this past month than usual? (growth spurt, illness, teething, etc?) Changes in nursing patterns can chance the length of your cycle. If the child nurses less, your cycle may be shorter one month. If the child nurses more, your cycle may be longer that month.
My periods came back at different times with each child (10 mos after #1, 9.5 mos after #2 and about 16 mos after #3) and the lengths usually varied for about the first 5 mos and then I'd usually fall into a predictable pattern after that.
Or.....if you've had sex then maybe you could be pregnant. If you're at least a week late, you might consider taking a test.

Not necessarily.
When you breastfeed your are surpressing ovalution, and this can be tricky because you don't know if you are ovaluting or not. Best thing to do is figure out when you should have ovaluted. 14 days from the start of your last period, then add on a week. Then if it has been that amount of time take a pregnancy test or go see your doctor for one. You might just not have ovulated this month which is normal for breastfeeding.

Maybe.
Breastfeeding is not the most reliable source of birth control, and only if you can answer no to
-Has your menses returned?
-Are you allowing more than 3 hours during the day or more than 6 hours at night to go by w/o breastfeeding
-Is your baby more than 6 months old.
If you have had sex w/o contraception I would definitly take a pregnancy test!!
All the best to you!!

Women can bleed and concieve children while breastfeeding.
Although pregnancy is a possibility for you, keep in mind that your pregnancy with your son threw your body all out of whack. Even if your cycles were perfectly regular before your pregnancy, it can take a while for your body to remember just what "regular" was.

I got my period at two months. I'd get a pregnancy test if I were you, but don't be too worried. If you're still breastfeeding, then you might just still be pretty hormonally charged.

You could be pregnant, but it could also be that your hormones are fluctuating a lot due to breastfeeding. My period were not as regular when I was breastfeeding. Good luck.
