Is it me being cray or what? My daughter was on oxygen for three months, she is now almost 5 mnths and she had a HORRIBLE time with it, the stickers on her checks and tubes in her nose I can only imagine what it was like the fist time the hospital put the tubes on her. So anywho now she hates it when I touch her face and especialy if I wipe her nose. I just use diaper wipes when I wipe her face, so its not hurting her shes just being a drama queen literaly, screaming, and she always acts so surprised about it, or even use my fingers to touch her especialy under her nose so I was wondering in your opinion could it be bad memories from when she had oxygen? Or are are alot babies like that with their face?

My sisters new girl isn't phased by loud noises and she think she is deaf. I have heard her cry and seen her get startled when someone sneezed. She is going to take her to the doctors to find out for sure but i would like to find out for myself.

My son cries, if i'm not holding him, he will cry until I pick him up, its hard to do any house work or cook. when i leave he gets upset . I love him so much, he's only six months. so I don't think you can spoil a baby. what do you think? my husband tells me too let him cry and don't cater to every little thing. But thats too me is awful, this is his way of saying something wrong.

hospital delivery or home delivery(mid-wife)? I just want to get opinions on this. Do you think it is dangerous for home delivery? Would you rather have doctors in a hospital setting in case an emergency happens with your baby or you, wife, etc.? I am writing a paper on this.

My one week old daughter has been doing very well sleeping at night, untill last night that is. I held her for a while before she was asleep just stroaking her hair and talking gently to her she fell asleep so I put her in her bed to hopefully sleep the night away. 15 minutes later she was awake screaming so I fed her and burped her and changed her. She was calm untill I left her bedside. I ended up holding her ALL night because it was teh only thing that would keep her from crying. What might I have done wrong? What can I do to prevent this from happening again tonight? Any thoughts?

Hi! I'm pretty close friends with a couple (in their early 30's) that is expecting their first child in a few weeks. It's a boy (as far as everyone knows). I think it would be better to get something for each of them as opposed to one gift for both of them. I was thinking about getting The Dangerous Book For Boys for him, although it probably won't be immediately useful for him/his son, I think it would see use in the future when the kid's older. From what I've seen of it, it seems like a good book for a traditional/outdoors type like my friend. I'm not really sure what to get his wife though, but I feel I should get her something. It's not that I don't know them well, it's just been a long time since anyone I know has had a baby and I don't want to get them something corny and generic. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

*By the way I'm a 22-year old dude, so please keep the suggestions "hetero." :) Thanks again.

My daughter stopped drinking formula at 11 months old. She started walking well around the same time. Now she is running! She has lost weight during all this. She is not unhealthy thin, but has lost weight to where she actually fits into 12 month old clothes where she was wearing 18 month at times. I am concerned about this. She was a big baby at birth, 8pds. 13 oz. We go to the doctor for a check up in 2 days, but I was just wondering if anyone else's child has done this, lost weight when they started walking/came off formula and began drinking whole milk-eating solid food?

Our 3 1/2 months old went 16 days without pooping. At 2 months, he went for 14 days and the doctor said to use fleet babylax which works and his stool was soft just like pudding. One week later he went by himself like pudding again. 2 weeks later we had to use fleet babylax again and it was like pudding again. This time, it has been 16 days but nothing yet. We are hesitant in using the fleet babylax again afraid that he may get dependent on it. He is a breast fed only baby and I've heard that it is impossible for a breast fed baby to be constipated. I'm not even sure that what he has is consider to be constipated since his stool has always been soft like pudding. He seemed to be feeding, playing, sleeping, and peeing just like normal. He is not at all fussy. Is it bad to have him gone this long without pooping? Is it normal? Is fleet babylax bad to use? We've tried massaging, warm bath, etc but nothing work. I appreciate any help anyone can give me. Thank you.

Dan

Ok so I FINALLY got to test the awesome Orbit travel system for myself. Bugaboos have nothing on this sucker, BUT I did notice that the harness buckles seem to resemble my Britax Marathon's quite a bit. Anyone else see this?

My son will be 5 months old next week. He usuallly eats 5 times a day (first bottle at 7:30am, last one at 11:30pm - every 4 hours). He eats 7 oz of formula each time. He is sleeping right now (has been since about 10:00pm. Do I wake him to feed him or see if he'll go through the night? He was SUPER fussy today (not sure if its just the full moon or not ;), so I don't want to disturb him too much. Maybe this is the night I see if he can through straight until morning without his nighttime bottle? It will mean he's only eaten 4 times today. He is a very big boy so there is no worry that he's 'starving', but it just makes me nervous to try this out...advice would be great!

I have tried controlled crying or comfort crying but she ends up projectile vomitting EVERYWHERE! She still wakes up about 4 times a night and I am scared that she will never learn to go to sleep by herself or learn to self settle or sleep through the night! Does anyone else have the same sort of problem or any advise before I go absolutly mad!

The fabric on the Swaddlers is so much softer than on the other diapers I've tried, except the Huggies equivalent. Has anyone used a generic store brand that is as soft? My daughters skin is irritated by the plastic of most brands. Thank you for your help!

I had my baby on the 17th of June via c-section. I slept well for the first month because my mother helped. Now, on my own, even when dead tired, I can't fall asleep until well after 7 in the morning. Even if baby has finally fallen asleep I cannot sleep. I was prescribed Xanax for four days for this very problem and had been able to sleep. Now, off it, I suffer once more.

My doctor told me to take my daughter's old bottles and clean them real good, dry them, and store them in a plastic bag and they should be fine if we decide to have a baby in a few years to use them soon. A ton of co worders say I can't do that, I need to get all new nipples for the new baby, that the old ones are bad. While I haven't gone out and gotten them from the storage building to check, I really don't think they are bad. I did exactly what I was told and had them cleaned perfectly.

Advice??? I am due in January and money is VERY tight, I have to figure out what is needed that I don't have.

My daughter is 2 and a half.

Hi all and thanx for taking the time

I'm saving a few items for my baby (4 month old) like his first clothes, a "growth chart" from the hospital, cards from friends and family etc. I just want to have a box of memories to show him when he's not a baby anymore. Any tips of what I could add to the box of memories as time goes by?

Thanx for answers and have a good night/day all :3)

This is not my child. I am a worried aunt. The baby ran a high fever for a day and a half, started vomiting, and had watery stool. After 3 days in the hospital they decided he has a staph infection. The child does not go anywhere and nobody comes over to his house. His twin sister did not get any from him or any illness when he did. Could poor housekeeping cause this in a baby? Did he get into something when he was not being watched?

Bottom line, I love my niece and nephew and I need to know if this baby got sick because his parents or is it something that just happens.

My son is nearly 5 months old. He babbles a lot which is adorable. But it seems he has now discovered his voice and screams at high-levels regularly when he is playing and gets excited...sometimes louder than other times. Has anyone else experienced this?
