lots and lots and lots of pictures. Not just of him, but him with all of the people in his life.
I also have two boxes that I keep in his room and throw stuff in when I want to save it. One box has ticket stubs from baseball games, his first plane trip, etc. Also cards from holidays, including his first Christmas photo and B-day invite...stuff like that.
The second one has some of my favorite of his outfits (not too many, about one from each different size), first shoes, that kind of stuff.
I also have a baby book that I try to keep up with monthly to write what he's been doing, as well as little notes to him.

His bracelet from the hospital. Hand and footprints from each year. His favorite toy. Photos, of course! A tape of his favorite cartoon or tv show. Home video footage. A lock of hair from his first haircut. The first tooth he loses.

My suggestion is to skip the 'first clothes'. Take a photo of them and give them to someone else who could use them. I think photos are the best thing you could have in a box of memories. More important than the 'stuff.'

take a picture of him each month and make a framed array of those pictures for his first year then take a picture every year on his birthday -perhaps wearing a bigger boy outfit which will eventually fit him - the picture of him in the huge clothing compared with the picture of the outfit fitting will be great

Save different things, like what you mentioned, and also some things that he loves - that's what you should hold onto forever. As time goes on, he will give up his pacifier, blanket, and his favorite toy/toys. The things he loved are the things he will remember forever. Just save things like what you named and things that he loved/were important to him.
