When the muscles in her back are strong enough to hold her up. Could be 4 months could be 12 months. Nobody here will know. If your little girl is getting lots of tummy time and you are showing her how to sit but sitting with her and helping her build her back muscles then that will make her sit sooner but if she sits in a swing, carseat, bouncer, walker or other things most of the time then her back muscle will take longer to get strong enough to really sit.

Greetings! I just consulted my Infant/Toddler textbook, which has specific guidelines for various ages. The guide line for sitting up is approximately nine months.
I need to stress to you two very important words before we go on....those are GUIDELINES and APPROXIMATELY.
No child meets exact guidelines. There are some things that children could be delayed with and there are guidelines that children reach long before they reach that age milestone.
What is important to know is how your baby functions daily. I am going to assume that she has had some visits to her pediatrician. You can express your concerns to him or her and find out what they think. If your child is, say, 15-16 months old and cannot sit up, you should consult her pediatrician. If she misses it by a few weeks or a month, I would not think there is cause for alarm. Your baby will sit up when she is ready to.
I think a good book also to read to your child is called "Leo, The Late Bloomer" by Robert Kraus. Yes, it is a very simple children's book and has large illustrations, but in between the lines, there is a very strong message for parents and caregivers. I know your baby will enjoy hearing you read it to her and you should feel reassured by it's message.
Take care. Enjoy and cherish your baby.

Most babies start sitting up between 5 and 7 months, the more time they spend on the floor or in the play pen, developing their strength, the sooner they can sit, then bounce, then walk.

All babys are different, so never compare your babys to others. My daughter and her cousin are just days apart, yet mine crawled before my brothers, but his sat and walked before mine. Most babies can sit up just fine by 6-8 months. Mine did at about 7. just be patient and enjoy her while she is little, because they grow so fast and you will soon wish they still slept all the time hahaha. Oh one more thing, I learned that putting something like the wipes box between their legs helps a little too.

It's impossible to say because each child developes at different speeds.
My son crawled at 5 months, sat up at 6 months, and walked at 7 months. His cousin sat up at 7 months, crawled at 9 months, and now at a year can stand with help, but not walk yet. Both children are normal and healthy.
Ask your doctor what they consider a normal range, and don't spend too much time comparing your kid to others.

I have 3 kids and they all did everything at different times. My oldest son sat up without help at age 7 months, my middle son was around 6 months when he needed no help (and wouldn't fall) and my daughter is 7 months now and still falls backward... if you aren't there, she would hit her head.
Every baby is different, but usually around 6-8 months is what my Child Development notes say. (I don't have the text anymore or I'd source it)

It varies. My 1st child sat up at 5 months, my second sat up at 5 months and my 3rd sat up at about 8 months on his own. I think they say 6-9 months is average but I could be wrong. Ask your doc if you're concerned.

By the time they're eight months old, 90 per cent of babies can sit well on their own.

When she's darn good and ready and not one day sooner.
Babies set their own schedules, relax Mom, she won't be laying around the rest of her life. Soon you'll be nagging her to "PLEASE SIT DOWN FOR 2 SECONDS! You're making me dizzy!"
