If you breastfeed cut out all cow's milk and dairy in your diet. Babies don't process the protein in cow's milk well and it causes painful gas. Soy milk isn't bad at all, I swear! Made a world of difference with my little guy. He was REALLY gassy and fussy at 4wks now he rarely cries or has gas.

Try gas drops, I used them a lot with my little gassy girl. It helped. Her tummy would get tight! Also my hubby would lay her tummy down on his lap and kinda softly bounce her and that helped relieve pressure. If you are nursing, eat more fiber for her. Try the gas drops, just a little at a time since she's so small and you can give them more often than the box says, my Dr. said it was ok for me to do this.

Your baby is constipated. I thought my son was constipated at that age, and the nurse told me to take a thermometer, put petroleum jelly on the end, and insert it into his anus. This will stimulate the baby to use the muscles and produce a bowel movement. I wouldn't use any prune juice, apple juice or karo syrup unless advised by a professional since your baby is so young.

Give her a couple table spoons of water. Its enough to move things along.
But shes only constipated if her poop was pellety, and solid.
Breastfed babies dont poop every day. Or all day. Its normal.
Burp her while she eats, and after, and any other time she looks gasy.
You can also get her some mylacon gas drops. Theyre life savers.

My son had gas real bad. I had to give him gas drops and burp him alot. He may be constipated. It sounds like he is. Just lay her across your lap on her tummy and pat and bounce. That may help with the gas until the nurse calls back. She can tell ya what to do about her constipation. Good luck and congrats on the baby girl!!

They sell gas drops in the pharmacy area at like Wal Mart, I think they are called Little Tummies, but they work wonders. My daughter had REALLY bad gas issues when she was younger, and those were heaven sent!! My doctor recommended them to me.

one thing to try that the others didnt mention is to lay her on her back, grab both feet and push then towards her stomach, back down, and repeat. the movement of her legs going up and down or straight then bent is a great way to produce gas or stimulate a bm. goodluck.

There is a medicine for babies called Mylicon. It comes with a dropper. Read the directions for her age and give it to her. It will help her I promise

Gripe water is what we used in our family - it always seemed to work. But if she's still straining to do a smelly - a "jelly bomber" (glycerine suppository) will make her do a big one in no time.
