Is it me being cray or what? My daughter was on oxygen for three months, she is now almost 5 mnths and she had a HORRIBLE time with it, the stickers on her checks and tubes in her nose I can only imagine what it was like the fist time the hospital put the tubes on her. So anywho now she hates it when I touch her face and especialy if I wipe her nose. I just use diaper wipes when I wipe her face, so its not hurting her shes just being a drama queen literaly, screaming, and she always acts so surprised about it, or even use my fingers to touch her especialy under her nose so I was wondering in your opinion could it be bad memories from when she had oxygen? Or are are alot babies like that with their face?

I can only surmise what might be going on with your daughter. I believe that humans and animals are quite a bit alike, the main difference being that humans can talk the same language. I can tell you how horse trainers treat a horse who has had its ears hurt. this same treatment may work with your daughter, its worth a try.

you will be working with the face, instead of the ears. Just gently touch her face off and on during the day, just brushing your fingertips across the face, take only seconds at a time . Dont try to wipe , as you would with a cleanup thing, just brush, fingertips only, across a cheek, or under the nose, with quick touches. dont let her upset you with her screams. and only do this in the privacy of your own home. In time she may accept the touch as normal. Good luck to you. I hope you will let us know if this works. its a shame that your daughter had to go though that trauma. But with patience from you, you may be able to get her over this fear. its just like a headshy horse. A good trainer can overcome this.
I hope you understand what I mean.

I would say its probably because of her experience, I mean imagine what that baby went through. That is an awful way to come into this world.

Babies don't always like getting their faces washed or getting their noses wiped, but I would say that if she is literally throwing a tamtrum everytime that it has something to do with her past experience.

The best advice that I can give it to talk to your doctor about it, maybe he/she can give you some good advice on how to get her used to it.

Best of Luck!

my daughter hates her face wiped. I dont think that it is from bad memories... most babies i know fuss or cry when they have to get there face wiped... What i found helps with my daughter is to make it a game.. LOL.. and make beeping noises when the cloth or wipe touches her face... she laughs because she thinks it's funny... make silly noises while doing it... after all... she really doesnt have a clue as to why you are wiping her face... just make it fun

All babies hate having their noses wiped.

All my kids hated having their faces wiped with diaper wipes. I think it's the taste, really -- it gets on their lips and then they taste it and it's really gross. My son also has very sensitive skin, so I think the cleansing agent in the wipe stung his face.

I would try using a very soft, old, cut-up t-shirt moisten with warm water and a very gentle touch for a while and see if it doesn't get better.

I doubt it lots of babies(including all mine) hated having their faces wipe. Let her hold the rag or wipe once and a while and start to teach her how to do it. Maybe then she won't make such a big deal out of it

What you should do is accosiate her face being wiped with something goo, like as your wiping her face also massage her feet or something to make her think of the situation as something good. I hope this helps!
